Dear Ms. Betthauser,

We are writing to you as a group of parents of Age Group swimmers in the Patriotic Aquatic Club (PAC.) Upon the departure of our long-time head coach, please consider our request to promote current Head Senior Coach, Eugene Spivak, to the position of PAC Head Coach. We would like you, Ms. Betthauser, and your search committee to understand the strong bond created throughout this team during the past several seasons and especially in the absence of a head coach as we rallied around our current coaches.

Eugene, Head Age Group Coach, Jennifer King, and the rest of the coaching staff are dedicated coaches and have been particularly successful in coaching our swimmers. Under their tutelage we have watched our kids achieve remarkable accolades. For example, PAC has 47 swimmers with 170 total individual entries in this weekend’s Illinois Swimming Regional Championship, on par with the largest of swim clubs. And that is a mere stepping stone to the following weekend’s Illinois Swimming Long Course Age Group Championships where we are sure to have a commanding presence. Additionally, as Head Senior Coach, Eugene has led PAC to five consecutive Illinois Swimming Senior Championship titles, a truly amazing feat.
