P1 Toronto Parking Authority Safety & Security Petition

Make it a safe place to live!!!!

This is not acceptable. P1 is not maintained properly. Not only are homeless people trespassing, there are people living down there in their cars. People sit in the stairwells drinking alcohol, leaving trash, clothing, bottles and drug paraphernalia all over the ground. It is disgusting and not safe for residents. My girlfriend is scared to be alone in the parking garage or go to the storage locker on P1 because of the homeless and people on drugs that are down there at times. People are losing sleep every night in a place that is supposed to be their home. How are we supposed to know when there is a real emergency? No one will take a fire alarm seriously when there is a false alarm every single day. The “security guards” currently monitoring P1 are not helping.

This is happening too frequently. Not only are we losing sleep but what happens one day when there is a real fire and no one (the residents of the building or the fire department) reacts quickly enough. The Toronto Parking Authority is being very cavalier with the lives of the Rise residents.

I can not endure this constant disruption to my life. Besides the stress of living with the pandemic plus being sleep deprived also adds to my anxiety. Something has to be done by the TPA, the fire department and City Council to address this major issue of our building.

This is my home. It is unacceptable that the city is allowing this to happen. I am being woken up in the middle of the night. It is inhumane. The city needs to take ownership.

This is really becoming annoying especially for people like me who have to be up at 5:00 a.m. and go to work!!

This last fire alarm situation at 2 am has frazzled me. My poor little cat gets stuffed into his carrier. He now hides under the bed when the alarm comes on. Down we go. All 16 flights. This is not a water issue as the fire fighters were speaking about. It's a security issue. There is someone doing this from the parking lot I believe. In any event, five in the morning here. Wide awake.

I'm writing this at 4am, because a fire alarm woke me up at 2:40am and I have not been able to fall asleep since then. I'm supposed to go to work at 7am! This is no way to live, especially in a so-called luxury building. It makes no logical sense to combine a condo building with unsupervised public parking. For a major city, this is an extremely incompetent method of managing integrated public parking spaces.

Absolute joke. 6 alarms in the a week are you joking me. Sorry excuse of security from gaurda world. Drug use everywhere. When will this stop.

Is very sad that in the place that you choose to live and enjoy you on safe if we lose the trust on our own home you tell me what what else is there? I want to go out and come in without being afraid, last week I went to shoppers drug Mart close 2 501 Sinclair and one of these homeless people as a matter of fact two of them they were asking me for money and I said no I don't support druggies I don't have to, and when I came off the store one of them insisted and persisted I got to revolted and I said no and when I turn my back they vandalize a mailbox, I get very scared that's happened around 7 in the evening I'm afraid to go out thank you!

Please take action and improve the situation. This issue is really affecting our life, work, mental health and safety.

Everyone deserves living in a safe environment!!!!!!

We havent slept well at all in the past week. So much so that my mom’s on anti anxiety meds because of these frequent false fire alarms

6+ fire alarms in a week is kind of a lot. Plus fire drills/tests at midnight for some reason?? I had no idea there was a stabbing too... building personnel broke the lock on my balcony door in August during a balcony inspection, I've been requesting to have it fixed ever since to no avail... not really feeling safe here
