P1 Toronto Parking Authority Safety & Security Petition

This situation is extremely dangerous for two reasons. During a time of pandemic, residents are being asked to move through crowded stairwells during false alarms. That is danger number one. In addition, after so many false alarms many are choosing to ignore them and remain in the building. But if there is ever a real fire, that reaction may endanger people's lives. These dangerous false alarms must stop.

It’s just insane with terrible Sercurity, vandalism, theft, garbage and nothing’s being done!

This is the worse green P I have ever been to. There are many many homeless people in the stairwell

Not only is this very upsetting, having the fire alarm going off constantly is very dangerous as eventually people will assume it is a false alarm and someone will get hurt or worse.

The false fire alarms have been a continuous issue in this building in the past 3 years. It is no longer possible to take the fire alarms seriously which makes living in this building unsafe. With the recent events, the parking levels are no longer safe either.

-add garage door to green P entrance - street access to green P staircases need to be locked after 9 pm and access only granted with parking ticket - digitalizing parking tickets and adding machines to pay in the green P

I t outrageous to be exposed to all this nightmare: if the TPA can’t keep the space under control they should ceded to the corporation

You must take responsibility to fix this situation.

High risk activities are being being conducted and very concerning for the safety of everyone whom is concerned. Camera's and extra security should be looked at very seriously.

Something has to be done with this issue!!! It has been physically and mentally exhausting the past week when these false alarms kept going in the middle of the night. We get woken up at 2-4am and my boyfriend has to leave for work at 6 am! We just moved here in this building and we love it but these false alarms are causing extreme inconvenience to everyone. We want to feel safe in our new home.. Whenever they go off, I cant help but also think about other residents who have pets, babies, and family members that have mental issues when these alarms go off. I am extremely worried that people will not take a real fire alarm seriously now because of this. Please do something!

If the Toronto Parking Authority does not get this Lot under control, privatize this parking location.

The false fire alarms sounding off are definitely an inconvenience. But more importantly, I feel unsafe in my own building. An immediate and long term solution is needed right away for us to sleep better at night (no pun).

A resolution is much appreciated to put an end to repeated false fire alarms from happening as it did between midnight to 3 am within the last couple of weeks.

Unplug the alarm until someone figures it out.

Just a few thoughts... Maybe, the overnight parking should not be permitted in our building like mall's parking lots. Our visitors can stay overnight with a written and registered permission from our management like in every other condo. this way it would be traceable who is in P1. All street entrance and an elevator should be locked to prevent access from 2200hrs to 0700 hrs. Security guard ( at least two of them) should be preset all the time at the entrance (loading dock). I think it should be at least 2 security guards present all the time because no person in the right mind will confront some homeless/'gang" people in the middle of the night alone, even for the sake of our sleep.

Insane activations of fire alarm (false alarm always) specially at 4:00am and 2:00am. On the building were the parking is on. Gang street's are using the Green P to sail drugs and prostitution. The entrance from the street is the day time & night time office of the gang. Around Christmas we have blood at the entrance walls and floor. For several time they tryed to get inside the building and police for several times had to came because they start to punching lady's at day light. My 13 years walk to school every day and other kids of young age are walking around the building. We are demanding some resolutions for this insanity. Thank you.

I am very concerned for the safety and well-being of my loved ones residing in the building.

The amount the fire alarm goes off to false alarms due to people smoking in the parking lot is very concerning as it could interfere with the alarm going off for an actual emergency, or an emergency could be written off as a false alarm when it really isn’t. people also should not be woken up in the middle of the night for days on end due to a lack of security stopping people from smoking in and hanging out in the parking lot. not to mention the fact that it is very scary that there are random people who do not live in the building hanging around in the parking lot and the very late hours of the night, that is completely unsafe.

Having one fire alarm at 4am seemed like a one off. Having 5-6 go off between 2-4am in one week is malicious. Whoever is doing this, is doing this on purpose. What's the point of having a guard in the Green P if people can enter the stairwells from the street, set the alarms off there, and not be seen? I rent in this building and have learned my lesson to never live in a building with public parking/access again. Not resigning my lease here as this is a major issue and can't wait to leave.
