I believe that the schools should be controlled at the local/district level. spending money, time and energy testing takes from eduaction; just to show the beaucracy that cookie cutter tests work.

Forcing the schools to use an assessment that is not supported by teachers and parents is shortsighted. Vetoing HB50 gives the impression that the Governer is more interested in special interests than in governing for the people of the state of Delaware.

it is obvious the government feels justified to negate a parent's right to raise their child and protect their child from harm. I personally tried the third grade sample test. The questions were not created by educators. Not certain how third graders were expected to answer them. I had difficulty and I have a Master's plus degree. I told my grandson not to worry about the results as the people enforcing this are going to find something else in a few years as they always do

I'm in agreement with Jessica Ott and others who understand that a "one size fits all" approach is not appropriate in testing students, especially when so much is at stake.

One test cannot possibly be applicable standards by which to judge vastly diverse populations on matters of success or effectiveness.
