Override Service Fee and Cart Charges

Sounds like an overage on the construction project. Is there a guarantee that the $4 "assessment fee" goes directly to the golf staff/employees? So I assume no more tips will be accepted?

Increases affect everyone and limit the number of people interested in joining a club that has an expense for a short golf season .

What was the $40 increase for if it doesn't cover increasing staff pay

Unnecessary increases. I always tip the golf guys anyway. Leave it up to the individual to decide on tipping value.

We have a huge surplus and frankly in the last 3 years I have seen the outside service slip considerably. This change will surely execrate that slide.

Pat I agree. The board is done an outstanding job in many areas but This is not a good precedent of future actions. It is excessive in that added to dues increases special assessment for remodel it is way over-the-top something should've been said and voted on.

Agree that the tokens should include a cart fee and that tipping should be voluntary.

I am ok with the token not including the cart fee if the extra income is used appropriately to either save members money elsewhere or provide additional services etc... Does anyone know how many tokens are used each year and what the additional income is to be used for? Wait.. I have an idea... why not just give all this extra cart money to the outside staff in some kind of bonus system and lets forget about the whole mandatory tipping thing altogether! Tipping, by definition, is NOT to be mandatory. Here's a quote from websters.com "Full Definition of GRATUITY : something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service; especially :" Therefore, "mandatory tipping" is an oxymoron in itself. I personally would love to see a no tipping culture throughout the entire club! For example, I would rather they just raise the price of the menu items in the restaurants and the drinks in the bar by 20% then include a mandatory 20% gratuity line. I come up to relax and have a good time with my friends... Not to worry about who I am supposed to be tipping, how much is appropriate, is the cash in my wallet in the appropriate denominations... On the flip side, tips are meant to give the workers a little extra incentive to go above and beyond their normal job duties. We as members should (and I think we do) thank them when they do a great job and tip them what we feel is appropriate. In my opinion, mandatory tipping lessens a workers incentive to provide extraordinary service (I mean they are getting tipped either way right?) and eventually results in being nothing more then another tax.

Yah seems a little silly and a bit Nickle and Dimesh to me. If the $4 is to go to the golf staff employees that handles the clubs, etc then I think they may be being shorted with no further tips as well. Some clubs that have a no tipping policy usually ask all the members at year end to donate a minimum of $X dollars to a general year end staff kitty that acts like a year end bonus and depending how much golf a member plays and uses the pool, clubhouse etc they should give more.

I concur with your assessment of the situation. I believe that $4 per person per round is excessive tip.

We agree with the comments supporting this petition. We are seriously considering not paying the annual dues up front and encourage all to consider this option as a protest. A question- will tokens already held from previous years be grandfathered in, and free of the imposed new surcharge ?

That change in charging for cart fees with the use of a token is why I am not preparing my dues this year.

We agree with having a meeting in June 2016 and hopefully overriding the actions of the Board.
