The Lava Beds are sacred ground..our ancestors are buried there...Why would they even think of disturbing the graves there? I'm pretty sure any other places that this company wants to lay their pipelines would never allow their graveyards/sacred grounds to be disturbed or moved....this is wrong in so many ways.

this is not a matter for a few people to agree on, this should be for everyone in the nisga'a nation to finalize. it shouldn't even be an option, our ancestors should not be disturbed especially from a pipeline.

I've passed through the lava bed many times, during the years I planted trees in the Nass Valley. I stand firmly with the Nisga'a people who oppose the desecration of a site that is both sacred and geologically significant.

I've always suspected that things go on behind closed doors until they thought that it would be too late for you to do anything. The idea for using the sacred burial grounds is a disgrace. I said once, I will say it again, if nothing remains sacred, how is anything ever to be respected at all?

Economic boon... But at what cost??? Nothing is worth irreparable damage to our eco-system. Alberta will never be the same and neither will our Nass Valley if we aloow this to happen!
