Our family have been members of St Apollinaris Parrish for many years. We are very concerned about the actions of our current pastor and feel there needs to be an investigation. We will no longer be involved until there are actions taken to resolve this ugly situation.

Jo Savage is a rock in our parish. I have gone to her countless times on a breath of matters in the Church. She is incredibly knowledgeable, connected and passionate about St. A's. She has never guided me incorrectly. I trust her implicitly. That said, I am very confused about her dismissal. My hope is that there will be some answers coming soon.
I can’t speak to the unrest with respect to the Youth Group. But I can say that Megan does an incredible job with all of the youth she guides. Her energy is infectious and her faith unwavering. It is clearly evident that she passes that on to her students. Our children are our future. They deserve our very best.
Regarding parish finances, I have no doubt that there is no wrong doing. But much could be done better. Protections and guidelines need to be put in place. There needs to be a separation of duties, and someone other than the person performing the duties needs to review and verify all transactions. Checks and balances are a must for any non-profit. Transparency is both crucial and critical. The financial committee should have statements available frequently (quarterly or more appropriately monthly), so they can guide the Church, respond quickly to pressing needs and keep us solvent. This fiscal team needs to have a strong accounting and legal background, must be passionate about the Church's needs, and have the time to dedicate to properly guide us and the pastor. Just as our faith grows with trust, openness and sharing, so too must be the same be for our parish leadership. Please join us in invoking some positive change out of this ugly and awkward situation.

We are very concerned about the dismissal of our parish secretary and are not willing to continue to support St. A's with the current administration. We have been long time parishioners.

Ashamed if his example. It has been apparent to me on many occasions that he is not found of children. ..I will never forget how irritated he was at a baptism where I was the Godmother. The siblings were making noise but not being disrespectful and he refused to continue until there was silence. It wS concerning and very uncomfortable. It's a good thing that some people are not parents. Our parish and children deserve bettrr

I'll never forget how Meghan welcomed me and my children to the St. A's community three years ago after we moved here from S. F. with her smiling face and graceful spirit! She got my kids involved in her high spirited youth ministry right away, and my son, Nick, and daughter, Julia, have become leaders in this wonderful group that has definately helped strengthen their faith and given them many experiences of charity and giving back to the community....it is a rare thing in this day and age of growing secularity, to see kids, especially teenagers, promoting the Catholic faith and sincerely backing up promises made at their confirmations to "spread the good news".... This has all been accomplished because of Meghan Dominici...She should be receiving acclamades for all she has done, should be supported by her Parrish and should be seen as an example for other youth ministers to follow!!! Her mother, Joe, has always been kind and gracious in her duties to me and the Parrish, and I know that Meghan learned to be such a great and giving Catholic from her mother. This is just rediculous, a tragedy and a loss this community can not allow to stand.

It is so sad to see that our so called pastor is taking away something that is so dear to me and many of my friends. I've only lived in Napa for 3 years and I've built my life around this church and youth group. It's where I have met so many of my closest friends and have surrounded myself with the most amazing people. Megan is an inspiration to me, and is always there for me and anyone who needs it. Youth group is a place where people feel welcome and build their faith while making life long friends. I hope that we can all come together and take back what is ours, a community with strong faith and trust.

I have been a parishioner of St Apollinaris since 1969. The present unrest, as led by our pastor, leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I would hope that we would be informed of recent actions. This strong parish needs to continue through and beyond this unrest. This is OUR parish and we deserve to know what our financial situation is, what future plans are in the works, and how the laity participates.

With the current indications of serious unrest, it behooves the Diocese to investigate the situation at St Apollinaris. Full disclosure of parish finances is in order. Transparency is necessary. I would hope this petition would lead to clarification of finances and “personal reason” for dismissal of Jo Savage. Findings should be made public. There must be trust and understanding between our pastor and the congregation. Neither quality is evident at this time. Hopefully, an unbiased review of parish activities, i.e. ledgers and administrative actions, will lead to a renewal of confidence in our pastor. These current happenings will not weaken my faith. They may, however, reduce my trust in Fr Donahue.

This has been my parish since the days of masses said on Orchard Ave. My mother was the first "unofficial" Women's Guild President; I have been on the board; Eucharistic minister; lunch with Friends co-chair; fund raisers, etc. This is OUR parish, we are the body of St. A's; there needs to be a financial accountability to all parishioners at least yearly, we've heard not one report since Fr. Donahue has been here.

I have been a very active member of this Parish for over 30 years..(Eucharistic minister, past president of the Women's Guild and chairman of many fundraisers) I am disheartened by the recent actions of our Parish priest..I feel WE are the Parish and he represents us, this is NOT the kind of representation I want! We need to have more transparency in the actions of our Parish..I am calling on the Diocese to see that happen.
