The only people who could possibly be in favour closing this car park are Belfast City Airport who have not had their frequent breaches of planning punished in any way. Funny world innit?

I'm not quite sure why planning are even involved.....the Ikea Car Park is already in existence and was built along with the surrounding roads to cope with a certain amount of traffic. This traffic volume to Ikea must be significantly lower than what the multi storey car park was built for hence why they can afford to rent the top deck to Boal. What legislation did the Airport Car park have to adhere to that Ikea didn't? As long as they are insured and are doing business legally what's the problem?

There is a definate need for competitive prices George Best Airport car park pricing is over inflated people will go elsewhere.

Parking costs at the Airport itself are exorbitant!!!! Holiday makers who travel worldwide have to connect through UK airports so long term parking at these costs makes people consider Dublin. The ONLY thing that keeps people using the airport to connect is BOALS!!! lose Boals lose the travellers. Not being able to book Baggage THROUGH is also a major put off! as the luggage charges also inhibit holiday makers.
