We live 1.9 miles from bayshore so my daughter can not be bussed. My next door neighbor lives 2.0 miles away from bayshore, he can be bussed. That just doesn't make sense!
We pay enough taxes so that every child should be able to get a bus. Two miles is to far to walk especially I winter when homeowners don't shovel sidewalk in front of their homes v
Keep our children safe! 2 miles on a county road is not safe for anyone. It is much too dangerous. Please be proactive, not reactive when it will be too late to take back a terrible accident.. Thank you!
My two older children attended Middletown Village Elementary and we did not have busing as we were too close to the school. The township thought they should walk nearly a mile along Kings Highway where there aren't even sidewalks on the side where we lived. For 8 years I drove them everyday. For the amount of money in taxes that we pay it's just not acceptable!
There are no sidewalks on the way out of my development (Priscilla)to get to Middletown-Lincroft rd.. Once on Mid-Lincroft rd is is way to hazardous for kids to walk.
im very familiar with this route as its one I pass on my bike rides and avoid at all costs due to the dangers. Even in good weather it's hazardous for walking with steep concrete walkways that haven't been maintained and are in desperate need of reconstruction. Weeds and bushes are overgrown, concrete is broken, wood railings are missing on the walking bridge and so much more. If our children are asked to walk this path to and from school then the Transportation department and BOE should be asked to walk this path at least once to see that what they're asking of our children is hazardous and unsafe.
No child should have to walk 5 miles a day to get to and from school. Especially with the huge amount we pay for taxes.

We live 1.96 miles from Bayshore and didn't qualify for bus. I was told by dept of trans that its not their problem how my child gets to school. And if anything happens to my child while walking, thats not the school's problem either. Then why have snow days?
