TO The Legislative Assembly of Ontario: -
WHEREAS choice
has been stripped from students by the School Food and Beverage Policy and
Healthy Foods for Healthy Schools Act.
We petition that The Legislative Assembly remove the Not Permitted for Sale portion of the School Food and Beverage Policy.
We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: -
THAT choice is important to students as a fundamental freedom which should be provided in Ontario and Canada.
THAT students are deprived of their ability to choose what they eat while at school.
THAT students are walking off school property to purchase food, thus adversely affecting school generated revenue.
THAT athletic and extra-curricular organizations are barred from needed fundraising techniques such as bake sales.
THAT students cannot afford certain healthier options such as fruit smoothies or lean meat.
THEREFORE your petitioners request that the Legislative Assembly amend the School Food and Beverage Policy and Healthy Foods for Healthy Schools Act in accordance with student needs and local complexities.

Reaching this point has been an exhausting climb but the momentum is undeniable now. Seeing so many people recognize that these policies have failed our students gives me the energy to keep pushing forward despite the pushback.

its my lunch money i should be able to spend it on what i actually want to eat
SERIOUSLY just let us buy a bag of chips if we want. stop acting like babysitters
so tired of this cafeteria food. need better stuff.
the cafeteria food is gross anyway, let us have some options
my brother and his friends skip eating at school entirely because of these stupid rules. bring back good food.

everyone just leaves campus to go to the burger joint across the street so this policy is literally doing nothing at all
