As an NYU student I thought that NYU having been described as "in and of the city, in and of the world" was a fantastic thing. But it is disturbing to see NYU recklessly claim ownership of what is clearly public space. NYU is IN the city. NYU does not own the city. They should have more respect for the locals, and the NYC public in general. They shouldn't try to demolish, replace, remove, or re-locate the city's public parks and green-space.

Parks and open spaces are an important part of our livelihood. We must do all that we can to protect our parks and prevent land grabs by unsound developers!

You were quoted Friday saying "We believe parkland is sacred." So how could you even think about challenging Judge Mills' decision!

As an academic myself, in a NYC urban university, I believe NYU has an ethnical obligation to the CItiy of New York and all of our residents to maintain and sustain every inch of park land in our city.
