I hope this judge and Mayor DeBalsio set this important precedent! And also protect and revitalize the city owned properties of the historic Riverfront District including South Street Seaport -- and inlcuding the two remaining old Fulton Fish Market buildings (which are owned by the city, too, and are the oldest survicing public food market space in the United States! Too crazy if the mall developer, Howard Hughes Corproation, is given the location to develop into a luxury highrise, which almost happened under Mayor Bloomberg...thankful for the new Task Force committee that is reviewing the situation now.)

Around 1946 NYU gobbled up a beautiful block of 19th century houses with communal gardens at the southwest corner of Washington Square, in spite of many petitions and famous people's support, including Eleanor Roosevelt. Please save our dwindling communal spaces and parks from voracious NYU and developers. They make the city livable and pleasant! and parks

Folks should have stood up when the parkland under the new Yankee Stadium was alienated & the current structure was erected at great public expense. They must do so to with the still-in-play Bloomberg scheme to build a shopping mall where Shea Stadium once stood - land that is part of Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The pirating list goes on.

These parks are a precious resource not just for the nearby residents, but for the entire city of New York. NYU is in the Village, is a vital part of it. It cannot be allowed to tower over its neighborhood—literally or figuratively.
