I lived in Greenwich Village for 50 years before I retired out on Long Island. I love the City and its open spaces. Please do not allow buildings to encroach on parks in the City. Its humanity will be destroyed.

It is imperative that we save all our parks, gardens, and playgrounds from developers. It is terrible to destroy what it takes so many years to build and what is such an asset to the community, with its limited access to greenspace.

please keep new york as green as possible, in whatever way is possible. it's so david and goliath: development is sooooo out of control that we must especially cherish and protect our parks. don't ruin the city any further. and don't leave it to private citizens like bette midler to handle. we must all step up.
