NYU is the face of village desecration. The village is a global landmark. You can have universities anywhere.

The BHA has lived this issue and NOTHING is more important than fighting against park alienation.The BHA won a park privatization/alienation case before both Federal and State Courts in 2009 and 2010, thanks to Jim Walden and his Gibson Dunn team. http://www.thebha.org/alerts/f6f6a8b75507f5b9fb2929fdad92c44d. Please do not let NYU take over the little open space that is left.
The LaGuardia gardens are de facto city parks, and belong to the citizens of New York City. They may not be developed to benefit private interests.

What we need is MORE open spaces. This is of paramount importance for our mental health and well being. We can not exist without our open spaces; they are more important than cement and glass high rises.

Our city's green spaces and landmarks are being eaten up by steel and glass structures. By the time the city wakes up and bemoans this great loss it will be too late.

It would be travesty to appeal Judge Mill's decision. The decision was in favor of people's need for parks, ratherthan real estate moguls desire for money.
