WHEN I EVEN THINK THERE MAY BE SHOOTINGS AT SCHOOL I WILL KEEP MY CHILD HOME AND SHAME ON YOU FOR EVEN THINKING ABOUT THEIR ABSENSE AS UNEXCUSED ! I CAN NAME A FEW SCHOOLS WHO WISH THEY HAD A THREAT AND COULD HAVE KEPT THEIR NOW DECEASED CHILDREN HOME !! SADLY , WE LIVE IN A VIOLENT WORLD TODAY AND AS GOOD AND CARING PARENTS , WE HAVE TO TRY OUR BEST TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE !

If Robertsdale High had been shot up, the school board would be all we are so sorry. Please forgive us for our "oversight" translation: please don't sue us for child endangerment. I'm a Fairhope High parent and I guarantee if it had said FHS, I'd have made my child stay home. Maybe the RHS parents need to lawyer up, and force the school board to repeal this totally assinine policy start with this incident.

Our kids lives matter. Should be excused, situations come up. Good or bad and you may have to adjust the school calendar.

As a student that graduated from RHS, I would expect the board of education to care for the lives of the children not the attendance especially when school shootings are almost becoming a normal thing.

I feel like "not wanting a bullet in my head" counts as an excused absence. If there were actual shots you'd know these would be considered excused in a second.

We were told to use our own judgement and we did!! We find out after the fact that it is an unexcused absence. We would rather be safe than sorry! I am sure the victims of the other schools would have loved a choice in wheather to send their children to school!! THIS SHOULD BE AN EXCUSED ABSENCE!!! Our choice was to save our children!!

Under the circumstances I was not putting my child's life in danger . Credible threat or not it was a threat ! The absence should be considered excused.

That article about it possibly being another school in Leon County, Florida was not even posted to any site until hours later. It was also said that Robertsdale High School Superintendant was the one that alerted Fox News 10 about the incident before any parent was even told about this thru the school system. Precautions with our children's lives mean more then taking a guess on what school this was aimed at. Awareness is the key. Would you be saying the same thing if it actually happened? It does not matter what school it was aimed at. If someone was to go missing and was told they was last seen in a nearby park but wasn't given a parks name.. Would you go to one park and stop looking or go to them all? We are educated and the people are speaking out about it.

The school mentioned in the post about the shooting was a school in FLORIDA. Do you people understand how many schools on the country have the acronym "RHS"? Educate yourselves and stop believing everything you read on the Internet and Facebook. People that post things like that on social media want attention, the people that actually do things like this don't talk about it. Get some sense and stop being so gullible and so quick to throw a school or anybody for that matter under the bus
