I am a teacher of 24 years in this county. I am also a parent. I want Dr. Asplen to remain superintendent. He has been highly effective and that is why SCS are #1 in the state for safety!

Dr Asplen is loved & respected throughout the school community. This board is way out of line & out of order. Hopefully they will soon be out of the board where they are absolutely using our children as pawns for their political agenda !!

It is wrong to blame the Superintendent for problems with the previous board. It is wrong to try to fire the superintendent without trying to solve the problems. It is wrong to coordinate the firing of the superintendent behind a vale of secrecy - and illegal to do so under the Sunshine law.

The recent efforts by those in power to control what teachers teach in the classroom will result in an uneducated generation. Banned books are anathema to a good education.

The four board members who voted Dr Asplen out obviously do not have education and our children's best interests as a priority. Yes, resignation is what should happen but we know they will not act with integrity.

Mrs. Rose should be ashamed of herself. She has never been a good communicator and was one of the main instigators of the firing of Dr., Asplen

Never in my former life as an educator have I witnessed such deplorable behavior on the part of newly elected school board members as has been done in the termination of Dr. Brendan Asplan, superintendent of the Sarasota school district. I sincerely hope that an investigation of the breaking of Florida Sunshine laws on the part of the Sarasota school board is being conducted.

Ms. Rose should do the honorable thing after breaking the Sunshine Law and resign!

Up north the school board members do not get paid being on the school board. POLITICS should not be involved in our school.. Also the settlement for Dr. Aspen we the tax payers will have use our money to pay for the settlement the boards did. Education is more important for our children. We as taxpayers have to get a new board now. We are paying the salaries of the board and they are not listening to us to keep Dr, Aspen. Let the boards in favor pay for the settlement not the taxpayers.

As a retired teacher who has experienced good and bad superintendents, Dr. Asplen is extraordinary who got Sarasota through the most difficult times. He has integrity and the children at the forefront of his decisions.

When Moms for Liberty win school board elections they inject conservative politics into the education of our young people. Banning books and creating problems for teachers and administrators are their goals! All 4 should resign!

Shame on the four board members that voted Dr. Asplen out. Our children deserve better than to be political pawns.

I agree that all 4 should resign. They are all elected officials & need to be voted out of office.
