I sign this in support of the parents of students with special needs who were brave enough to speak before the school board and share their personal stories. Under section 2: Additional considerations for K-12 Schools of the CDC's Guidance for COVID-19 Prevention in K-12 Schools, schools are to be aware that distancing and masking can be difficult for children with disabilities, sensory or cognitive issues.. They are encouraged to adjust strategies as needed including prioritizing mask wearing for times when it is difficult to separate students and to use positive reinforcement and behavioral techniques to help students adjust. It sounds like reasonable accommodations, modifications, and assistance for students with disabilities and other health needs are not being made but rather punitive measures are being taken when these students struggle with masking... an all-or-nothing approach. The stories of harsh treatment of these students who have special needs by not only other students but by school officials may be more damaging and have long-term negative implications worse than the masks themselves. If the district is not going to make accommodations for students with disabilities or other health care needs (per CDC guidelines), then the only fair and equitable policy is one based on a parent's right to choose.

My child may be grown but I have grandchildren in school and believe this should be the parents choice

It should be a person choice ….. And this is something that is not going away so we can’t wear masks for life. It is like the flu. We need to move on, and live our lives. Plus you can’t understand what people are saying when wearing masks too, hard to hear what they are saying too. One reason, and lots of others.

Mask mandate is a form of child abuse. I can assure you I didn't voted for any of the 5 who voted for this.

Enough of the ridiculous masks. Enough of the CRT. Remove all board and admin who have conflicts of interest, or no kids in FBLT Public Schools.

You definitely need to allow my kids to continue education unmasked. We are a republic of the people. The people are speaking and have spoken. Mental illness is off the charts due to isolationism. Masking hurts emotionally and psychologically. STOP Mask Mandates Please.
