As a new parent to the central school I am truly appalled at what is going on with the EB school system. I am considering sending my child to an alternate school.

Education funding is a huge issue everywhere. Federal, state and local funding does not keep pace with inflation, but costs surely do. You get what you pay for. All of these programs are important, and critical to some students. Professional teachers should be paid a professional salary, and have access to quality professional development. I graduated from EBHS, and much to my own surprise, went on to get two degrees in education. Although I teach in rural Maine, we face the same issues, every year. Whether we agree or not, thank you all for caring enough to be part of the conversation.

Unfortunately, it appears it's more important to pay high salaries than to take care of our children's futures! East Bridgewater needs a hero!

obviously no one is thinking about the students!!! Also, as if our towns drug abuse isn't bad enough let's remove all the programs that have been proven to deter our children from the WRONG path!!! So sad!

sorry I posted before finishing.Gym & sports teach excersise & team work, sportsmanship. To lose the arts, Visual, performing, music, these are not 'specials' these are life skills, what a dull world we would face without creativity! To consider cutting technology in a technological world, a world we cannot exist in any longer without technical skills? EBHS is facing the accreditation process, can we pass? Will the state step in? What happens to our kids, our property values? My children had great educational opportunties through EBPS if you want the same for your kids, for you neighbors kids, go to the meeting on May 7, bring you kids, show voters who will suffer, think about the bulk of any school's budget is salaries. The salaries of the people who spend all day with your kids, they are not 'line' items they are parents working to teach your children and raise their own.

The "specials" they are looking to cut should not be considered "special or extra or just fun". Art, Music Physical Education, Computers & Technology " are as vital to a childs education as any other core subjects. As listed in the petition, they all have benefits needed to raise and education students in todays world. If not taught to excersize

Without special classes such as art, gym, and music, the school is basically going to be a prison, driving away probably a couple hundred students to other schools

As a EBJSHS 7th grader I think this unfair to the children and the staff of all schools. The Kids may think Tech-Ed is overrated, but it is use full, as are so many other stuff provided to the students

This is so sick. I hate the fact we will have to put our daughter in a private school. Why would the town be so STUPID and allow these things to happen to our children.
