The parents of Mrs. Vakil’s and Mrs. Millers 1st grade class at Design39 request consideration for our children to be able to loop up to second grade with their classmates and teachers. We would love for them to continue on with them through 3rd as well. Our students have built a bond amongst the class and with their teachers and we were all heartbroken to learn of the recent administrative decision of looping for the 2024-2025 year. We are asking that your reconsider the decision for our class and allow them to stay together.

The administration is currently reviewing our request but they need to see that this pressure is not going away. Please email the school principal today to demand that they keep these classrooms together for next year.

The administration is beginning to notice the strength of our collective request. Post our petition link to your Facebook page today and tag the school board to ensure they see the scale of this support.

Finn was behind when the school year began and we were so saddened. We were worried he wouldn't be able to catch up and the only reason he was was because of the guidance and skill of Vakil and Miller. They are brilliant educators and we want Finn to continue with them next year.

Certainly: "We understand that staffing decisions are complex, but we respectfully urge you to consider the option of looping these exceptional teachers with their students for the upcoming school year. We firmly believe that continuity in education is vital, especially considering the unique rapport and understanding that has developed between our children and their teachers."

Our child has flourished in the combo class with Ms. Vakil and Ms. Miller this year. There are countless studies and data that show that looping is more beneficial for children and that looping for 3 grades has been found to be even more beneficial than for 2 grades. Please allow our designers this opportunity to thrive under a pedagogically sound system that the LEDs have expressed a strong desire to pursue. Trust your teachers. We do!

We would like Ms Miller/Ms Vakil to continue in 2nd grade with same set of students as it’s been great for all the students. Would be beneficial to start now than to wait another year for looping as transition from 1st to 2nd grade is more delicate tans a continued set of LEDs would go long way in bolstering and nurturing the young designers

Transitions and change raise anxiety in children which impact their learning. As a parent with a child who transitioned into d39 as a new school this year, we've been tremendously happy with the decision because of the wonderful teachers and classroom. It would be incredibly comforting to both us the parents and our child to loop and have continuity and familiarity and be able to go into the new school year ready to succeed. Thank you for the consideration!

This will bring so much benefits to our kids, my daughter has grown so much Ms Vakil and Ms Miller know her way of learning and so much more about her, she is not anxious anymore about being in a different environment with different faces

We love Ms. Vakil and Ms. Miller and would welcome the opportunity to have Kaeden loop next school year. He has thrived this year because of their support academically, socially, and emotionally.
