As an OU alumnus and a professional working in higher education, I am disappointed and angered by these comments. A resignation would help redeem the reputation of the university and validate for students that all are welcome on campus.

As an alumnus of OU and the OU College of Law, I was disappointed and outraged at Mr. Humphrey's ignorant comments. He can no longer tarnish the good reputation that OU enjoys.

I am an OU alumni residing and working in this beautiful town of Norman. I am also outraged at the ignorance spewed publicly by Mr Humphreys this weekend. I believe strongly in freedom of speech but this does not protect anyone from the consequences of those words. The hateful ideology that Mr Humphreys expressed is not only wrong but hurtful to the mental well being of the OU LGBTQ students and others. I demand the immediate resignation of Mr Humphreys due to his poor choice of speaking this vile hatred into my dear community.

As a physician and medical professor, I find Mr. Humphrey's homophobic opinions not appropriate for a member of the Board of Regents of Oklahoma University.

This is dark age thinking! This man isn’t fit to serve on the OU board of regents! I very ignorant man! A divider not a uniter!

2014 Alumna, MD 2018 candidate at OUHSC. Will hang up on all phone calls from OU asking for donations until Kirk Humphreys is gone.

I am boycotting the University of Oklahoma, and withholding all financial donations and interactions with the university until Humphreys resigns. As an OU alumni, this saddens me greatly. However, it is simply too dangerous to have someone with such regressive, despicable views sitting on the board of regents. The boycott will be lifted as soon as Humphreys steps down. Homophobia will not be tolerated.

These comments are not a credit to the University of Oklahoma, its students or its staff. Regent Humphreys needs to resign.

Mr. Humphreys is not an adequate representative we need to reflect the values of Oklahomans. His antiquated and unsubstantiated views on homosexuality and pedophilia, in which he spouted on public television, shows that he cannot fulfill a competent and unbiased role in his current position. He should resign immediately.

I can not and will not support a university which has a regent who doesn’t support its LGBT students.

I feel it is reasonable for the Humphreys to step down. OU is a prestigious university and is know for it's inclusiveness and diversity for staff and students alike! His comments characterizes him and the university as not inclusive and as a former graduate of the university offends me personally. He represents the university being a member of the board of reagents thus his comments are a reflection of the university's as well if he continues to serve. I hope he apologizes for his behavior and comments and resign immediately. Thank you and I hope OU makes the right decision.

Humphreys is not the kind of student-supporting leader we need in a regent. He must go.

Kirk Humphreys should not have influence in choosing the next OU President if he holds these views.
