As an OU graduate, I'm ashamed of this man's insulting comments, which do not represent the University I attended nor the culture I want my University to support.

Disgusting and bigoted opinions like this have no place at OU. To suggest that my behavior as a gay dude is equivalent to pedophilia is beyond comprehension.

If he said something like this about a person of color he would already be gone. He needs to go, an apology is not enough. He's clearly shown that he does not care for and does not have the judgement to care for a great population of students at The University of Oklahoma.

As an alumna and incoming graduate student, I saddens me deeply to even have to sign this petition. But Mr. Humphrey’s comments are unacceptable. He shows poor judgement and leadership. The inaction of the regents truthfully makes me reconsider my place in the university’s graduate program. I hope someone makes the right decision.

I am proud to stand with the University of Oklahoma, Rogers State, and Cameron University's LGBTQ communities. Kirk Humphreys is a blight on the OU board of regents and should resign. He has a right to his opinions, but the opinions of regents should reflect the values of that board and clearly he does not share the values of his fellow regents and of the communities he's charged to govern.
