I don't want to waste tax dollars on lawsuits because the last incompetent chair did that constantly, but holding our elected officials accountable is critical for trust in the Democratic process. His unethical actions need to be identified clearly and he should be removed from his seat due to ethics violations if that's appropriate.

Joe Moss has cost county residents a huge amount of money, much grief and litigation by his misuse of ideology. He should be held accountable.

While I understand the desire to "move on," the fact is that Joe Moss has shown himself to be perfectly willing to lie to make his claims. At a minimum, such behavior should be recognized for what it is through board action.

We the residents if Ottawa County were victims of Joe Moss's lies, deception, and wasteful spending. The current BOC turned a blind eye to the unethical actions of a fellow Republican. Should the current BOC set guidelines for unethical conduct would be incriminating to a current Republican BOC member. What is more important to the current Republican BOC majority, their constituents or their Republican BOC colleague? Simply moving on from the unethical actions as if it never happened seems to answer that question very clearly.

Our county functions best when commissioners are truthful with one another and with the public. Transparency and ethical conduct aren’t partisan issues—they’re foundational to good governance.
