People forget how prosperous Lebanon was before the 1970s. The decision to allow the Palestinian refugees was the beginning of the end. By using Lebanese soil as a launchpad for their own militant activity, Palestinian factions effectively dragged a neutral country into a devastating cycle of Israeli tit-for-tat strikes and internal sectarian war. Lebanon paid the ultimate price for a Palestinian conflict it couldn't contain.

As teachers, we should not finance killing of anyone, especially children. App. 20,000 children have been killed in Gaza by Israel’s “plausible genocide “(ICJ), and 17,000 have amputation(s). I strongly urge OTPP to divest. Thank you.

The Palestinians have the inherent GOD-given rights to be treated as full-fledged human beings, and to live freely and happily on their ancestral lands. They must not be brutalized, tortured, discriminated against, forced from their lands, or have their properties destroyed or confiscated by a brutal occupying military.

How can we teach students the fundamental tenets of Christianity and yet support, through our financial investments, the very opposite!! I have seen with my own eyes the discrimination, heard the cries of the weakest, and been confounded by the inadequate response of the international community. If our students only knew what we partake in, they just might question everything we try to teach them as a Christian community.

The OTPP should also be pressured by teachers to divest from fossil fuels, in line with the campaign from 350.org targeting the top 200 fossil fuel companies for divestment.
