I absolutely believe he was screwed out of a Oscar. And I think this should be recirculated. I was just speaking with my husband about it and I believe the Academy should do an honorary Oscar for Val’s portrayal in this role!

I have watched TOMBSTONE at least 20 times. But before Wells Fargo foreclosed on our house and we lost everything, TOMBSTONE was the one video we watched every month. Thank you Mr. Kilmer for making the movie, it us now a classic. Wyatt Earp came out the same year but was not the blockbuster like TOMESTONE!

Val kilmer’s performance as Doc Holliday is outstanding . His character suffered acute illness and alcoholism and this was portrayed sublimely by Kilmer .
Can’t believe 26 years later his performance still moves me .

Val was born and bred to play Doc Holliday. His portrayal was erie and I am very disappointed. I thought for sure he had won an Oscar. Now I find out he wasn’t even nominated. To me, that was Doc Holliday.

Not even a nomination? This is the best western role ever played by a man in a film. I'm sure the quiet man would speak, and if alive, even-'Rooster'- would- crow in agreement.

One of the greatest performances ever by an actor! Why? Because you can not forget Val in this role, a person wants to re-visit the film just to see Val's portrayal of Doc Holiday and his portrayal was absolutely beyond believable!
