We need a National Endowment for the Arts to help preserve all these old historical buildings that are just disappearing from our landscape.

The downtown area has such potential for a new life as a cultural hub, benefiting the residents there as well as the country through revenue. Many other cities have given their downtown areas a new lease on life. We can too.

Greater efforts and more attention must be given to saving Jamaica'snatural and build heritage. This and its people are why tourists visit and Jamaicans take pride in their country.

Rev S.O.Ormsby was my Great Grand Uncle..he died at only 52 after toiling to the point of exhaustion trying to locate housing for his parishioners and rebuilding his beloved church after the earthquake. My Grandmother told me the story often. This is a historic building that must be preserved & restored to its former glory.
