I used to ride my motorcycle through the Oribi gorge. If someone does not fix the road soon it will become more of a danger, more dangerous compared to riding. Every one knows riding motorcycle is dangerous enough.

I am a new resident on the south coast and regularly host local and overseas visitors for whom the highlight is a visit to the Oribi Gorge. The road through the Gorge is one of the greatest experiences on SA and it is u acceptable that it is in a desperate state of disrepair.

Would be unable to travel between the farm and Paddock, and unable to use the hiking trails in the Gorge. The alternative route is over double the distance and time.

When family visit over the christmas period we always love to travel to Oribi Gorge and Lake Eland to enjoy all the wonderful activities and wildlife that the area offers. I always recommend a visit to Oribi Gorge to my guests who visit my apartment in Ramsgate. Difficult now with roads in that state.

Besides the beauty of driving through the small Gorge after a busy town day, this route shortens my trip by 8kms. The alternative route past Idwala, one has to drive through a residential area. Heavily loaded truck are often driving at excessive speed, animals and unsupervised children along the road verges makes this route undesirably stressful . I would strongly recommend that the route in question, gets the required attention it needs.
Thank you. Eva

The Oribi Gorge road is an esential life line to both my family and farming business.
Our farm is located in Oribi.
We use this road to send our children to school aswell as sending our crop to the factory in Paddock .
Repairs to this road have been far from satisfactory over the last years and has led to it almost being unusable at this stage.

Please repair this road, especially the potholes and where it is washing away completely over the cliffs and little stream near the top. It's very dangerous. As Oribi Gorge residents, we travel with our children through here almost daily and it is becoming a real problem as the rain keeps making the damaged sections bigger. In some places, the whole road is falling away. Tourists are also in danger as they don't know the sections to be aware of. This reserve is precious from an ecosystem perspective and deserves protection. It can't continue to pay staff or conservation work if tourists stop coming or can't access it safely. Please help.
