Final supporters
With all of the vacant land space in Ward 8, the residents of the Ward 8 communities deserve the right to utilize those areas by growing their own produce in the vacant lots. Store brought produce contains an abundance of harsh pesticides and chemicals that are very detrimental to health of the consumers. With there being little to no organic markets or healthy food restaurants in Ward 8, the residents of Ward 8 are obligated to buy and consume the produce that contain chemicals and pesticides from their local grocers. Studies show that these pesticides and chemicals cause cancerous diseases and illnesses.

I have been spending my evenings walking past these empty lots and imagining them filled with healthy food instead of weeds. It is exhausting work to keep pushing when the city stays silent, but reading your stories about the lack of real markets nearby keeps me moving forward.

Reaching this point has been a long and draining process. Seeing so many neighbors recognize the need for healthy food in these empty lots gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

Yes! Growing our own stuff is way better than the garbage at the grocery store. Sick of these pesticides.
About time. We need better food options in our neighborhood instead of all these corner stores.

This would be great for the empty lots over on marbury. Let us grow something green.
