I was on the SPACE Committee. Better options were presented a year ago than boundary change but they did not satisfy the superintendent's goal. So he spent more taxpayer money and came up with the least effective solution. Taxpayers are paying for a very expensive pre-school program that occupies several elementary classrooms and employs several teachers. Most of this program is not required by the state or federal government. Moving 5th grade to Middle School would also eliminate the crowding in the elementary schools. These solutions were completely ignored.

I have no children in schools; so wait until all the costs are known and get input from the children's parents!!!!

The school board shouldn't simply be able to send kids off to another school after they've made life long friendships and bonds with the teachers.

We already have school jackets, clothes, friends, families, class rings, and a whole bunch of other stuff. If someone that's on a team moves they won't want to play on that team because then they won't want to play against their home team. Students have friends at this school that help them deal with their problems and if they move they won't have anyone. Think of something that will help the population in the school but won't hurt us at the same time.

Please slow down and listen to the public comments. You are railroading this through with lots of unhappy people. Listen and make a change to your decision. Lots of people are hurt by your rash decision.

I can understand moving Elementary kids but why the rest of the kids? They've already developed relatioships with their classmates and some will be expecting to graduate together soon. At least consider what you're doing to the older kids.

First, none of the 3 options impacts me and my family. To say I am displeased with all 3 options is an understatement. Out of respect for the families and the kids involved, DEFER and look at alternatives.

Changing the boundry lines will affect most of our comunity and i think we should visit this issue again and try to find a better way to fix overcrowding as a community

Adjusting the boundary lines is nothing but a temporary fix and the $100,000+ paid to "collect data" seems like a waste! That money could have been used to put towards expanding the current schools, additions, building additional elementary schools in the smaller towns (like Broadway/Timberville). This project was originally supposed to take 12-18, now its taking 6 months, no one is looking at the long term effect and that we may be back in this same boat a few years down the road, this has been rushed without any concern for the communities affected.
As a single mother who works in Winchester, I depend who grandparents who are in in the Central campus no matter what, to put my children on/off the bus. I drop my children off at 7am or earlier. Children will be stripped away from what they've known, new school, new friends, new sports teams, new group/club activities...a lot of these kids are involved in extracurricular activities that are long term and working towards something, the foundations will be uprooted due to hasty actions that can be prevented if all options are considered and concern for the people are considered.

Leave the boundaries alone!! It's not solving anything. I don't want my 5 year old on the bus for an hour twice a day! Ridiculous!!!!
