Please sign if you Oppose WV House Bill 4187. It would allow employees in West Virginia to leave guns locked in their cars on company property This bill is on its second reading in the Senate today. Other states have similar laws have exemptions for certain businesses and have a mandatory concealed weapon permit.

Below are reasons to oppose this bill:

1. Jeopardize the safety and security of employees and security personnel (front line of defense)

2. Increases likelihood of Workplace Violence that could escalate quickly such as Active Shooter events

3. "Peace of Mind" by a workplace would be lost by employees and employers without knowing who has a gun in their car

4. This would increase costs at businesses with additional security measures added like additional security peronnel, physical security measures like fencing, metal detectors, and security consulting on Workplace Violence/Active Shooter

5. Could deter new businesses from coming to WV

6. This bill could lead to more Lawsuits against Employers

We oppose this very dangerous bill as we have had at least two adverse events in the last 10 years where this action could have turned deadly for many.

Please kill this bill. It is unsafe, for starters, and is definitely not pro-business. In fact, I've already heard from both potential new businesses and from many young people that this and similar bills will drive them away from WV.

This bill will do nothing to reduce liability and increase protection. On the contrary, this will increase the risk of on campus incidents. IN its 23 year history in WV, with an absolute no weapons policy, there have been zero violent incidents. NGK Spark Plugs vehemently opposes this legislation.

Employers should have the right to regulate their property for the safety and security of their employees and communities.

Just spent $1M on site security. Feels like money wasted.
