Opposition to the Copper Point Development Project

I am opposed of bring in multifamily units (apartments) in an area that is shared with the single family homes of Rancho Sahuarita. This will affect the master planned community look and feel which will drive property values down. I did see a plan in the past that had apartments going south of Rancho Sahuarita that would be a better location for this type of housing.

I am not interested in lowering our property values for government housing.

I am against the construction plan that includes apartments and a plan that excudes these homes from having to pay into rancho sahuarita HOA when they most definitely will be a part of using the same areas we fund. Crime is already a problem and adding apartments on the north end will def increase the problem as well as the new entrance in front of the casino/by fwy.

I understand that the developers rwmoced "apartments" from their plan but I would like Rancho Sahuarita/ Sahuarita to remain a family friendly community. With that said I do not agree with the developers plans to only contribute a one time fee of $1000 per home sold. That is not sufficient when we need a new school for existing children in crowded classrooms. Adding to the population is only going to make it worse. Instead of developing a new subdivision we need to build schools and places for our youth to play, learn, and develop in a safe environment. The public parks are also packed and it would be great to use that land for parks, recreational fields, a splash pad, youth center, or community garden. We personally chose to live and buy a home in Rancho sahuarita because of the amenities. I understand that the Sharpes play a huge role in decision making in Rancho Sahuarita and this does not all fall on the town. I hope that the town can all come to a decision that will benefit and better our town as a whole for the future.

You need to offer more then just a one acre park for the community!

Without a much more significant contribution from the developer of CopperPoint, our already burgeoning schools, roads and amenities within Rancho, will be overburdened. The paltry contribution he is offering is not sufficient to bolster the infrastructure for this many new residents.
