Raising the height restriction from the current 30ft to 60ft is not consistent with existing development adjacent to single family homes. Raising the height limit does not add value to the surrounding area surrounding James Island.

It sets a very bad precedent to change the height zoning when there are other properties available that would not require a zoning change

Current zoning should be maintained. Our backyards should not be open to prying eyes.

If the commissioners approve this request it could open the door to future developers asking for the same allowance. It sets a bad precedent.

I also oppose the proposal to amend the height restrictions and urge the council to deny the request. Height restriction rules were enacted for good reason and facilitate a fair balance between the needs of the developer and the needs of the community. The council should honor those regulations which represent a good compromise for all.

The surroundings of the neighborhood are becoming more and more crowded with new office buildings and developments. There is another deforestation on the corner of gate parkway and deerwoork park blvd in progress that means another building that will increase the volume of cars and noise. If additionally we add a new 6 floor building just next to our backyards, it would be less safe for our kids, less privacy in our own homes, more traffic, more noise. I strongly oppose the increase of high on corner of Gate Pkwy and Burnt Mill Rd.

This is a residential area. Taller office buildings will bring down property values.

The increased height would have a negative effect on the residential communities in the immediate area. Buildings on Gate Parkway are currently 3 stories or lower and this building should maintain consistency with others nearby.
