As a claim it I oppose of the Iwi Runanga NAGTIWHATUA in relation of what they are trying to claim

Our hapu whenua maori trust opposes the Ngati Whatua AIP for Kaipara Harbour management without us as upper harbour hapu and Kaipara Moana claims over our shared fishery in Te Renga Paraoa

I strongly oppose the Ngati Whatua AIP and any settlement on my whanau behalf. Poor communication and engagement regarding the entire process is offensive and over reaching boundaries using our shared whakapapa to draw a line in the sand for settlement purposes flys in the face of our tikanga and who we are. Stay out of Te Orewai and the Whangarei Harbour that affects both sides of my whakapapa!!! I oppose all areas of the Ngati Whatua AIP, including exclusion of Wairua catchment hapu from the Kaipara management group. We are half the kaipara catchment and the head waters of all that happens at the end of the catchment in the Kaipara Harbour. We want the kaipara harbour management removed from the Ngat Whatus AIP. I oppose Ngati Whatua's Kaipara Moana blanket claim over Te Renga Paraoa and its fisheries. Ngati Whatua and the Crown who supported this AIP need to pull their heads in and wait the finalisation of local hapu claims before processing this AIP.
