Today I went to look at a little house on New Croft which I was about to put in an offer for when I spotted a neighbour and asked about the area.
I was stunned to hear about the development that would destroy the beautiful countryside at the rear of the property. Needless to say I have changed my mind.
I feel sorry for residents whose house prices will plummet when they lose the surrounding countryside to a modern housing development.

The village has to grow, this is something I truly believe, however it needs to be in areas which will not push, already over loaded streets.
With the bypass plans in place surely there are areas on the outskirts of the village that can be infilled next to the A45/A5

Like others, I am concerned about increased traffic in the village, which is already bottle necked at times in the centre. Increased demand on services is another worry; we have fluctuating water pressure on a regular basis already and increased pressure on the sewage infrastructure would also be a concern.

I agree with all the comments in opposition thus far.
Whilst I appreciate the country and county requires new housing surely it would make more sense to develop around existing villages where there is already infrastructure in place, ie alongside the A45 or A5 but to place this amount of housing in the heart of a village that already cannot cope with current traffic is beyond belief. My other concern is that when developers plan sites with large numbers of housing are they willing to help with building annexes to schools/surgeries and perhaps shop facilities etc etc.
I wish the Action Group every success, I have unfortunately been away for every public meeting.

New Street cannot take the volume of traffic 121 houses would bring. It's a dangerous proposal.

We all recognise that Weedon should accept more new houses, but the location of this proposed development could not be worse. The access for construction traffic is severely constricted, and once complete there will be more frequent gridlock on New Street. There are better locations!

The roads in the centre of Weedon are simply insufficient to cope with the extra traffic this would bring. What about the extra pressure on the schools? What about the flooding risks?

Access is one of the biggest problems with this development, all ways in and out of this village are extremely narrow and limited and really will not cope with more traffic. Surely all future building of this scale should lead off a main road?

Weedon has accommodated many new homes over recent years using a policy of in-fill and building on brown sites. Building on ancient ,virgin farmland is totally inappropriate. The village cannot safely take on a building scheme of this magnitude, it is totally unacceptable , roads are too narrow ,the school,dentist and doctor would struggle to cope with new numbers of this quantity. Overall it is a bad idea.

I am really worried about the proposed development for various reasons impacting me and my family but most importantly the impact this has on the environment, the beautiful landscape and the heritage of Weedon. When will we stop the greed of making profit and prioritise more important matters in protecting the areas we live.

I can see so many problems if this goes ahead. We already have a big
problem with traffic - school - doctor surgery and the impact on the environment. We have enough houses in Weedon.

The two main roads into the village are enforced single file roads at the bridges. This can't be changed........
