No region water authority. Scituate needs a large say in the reservoir. All that valuable taxable land was taken by eminent domain away from Scituate. Scituate needs a permanent recourse for taxation revenues permanently lost by the reservoir and a new water authority board would have to have major tax revenue paid directly to the town of Scituate annually and in perpetuity. Scituate can't use the land, development is very restictive, therefore, not allowing for taxable income generation. Taking away, in perpetuity, a source of tax dollars without perpetual recompense is a very bad move for the town of Scituate.

I as a RIlander and a Scituate Reservoir user (so to speak) do object to this move. I fear for this precious commodity WATER in the hands of yet another quasi.

Providence is taking away so much potential property tax revenues. It is not fair to us residents.

This bill is not good for anyone in Scituate besides anyone in the State of RI. This is a community killer.

I live in Providence. I pay taxes. I vote in every primary and every general election. It would be wasteful and reckless to sell our drinking water for this purpose. What happens as the population increases demand on our water? When the next drought occurs, then who gets to have water?

Since Providence doesn't want to pay taxes to Scituate, A good bill to propose would be for Scituate to send all their students to Providence to get a free education.

Scituate resident. This action must be stopped. We moved to this town because of the value of the school system and environment. Do not take away the towns ability to fund this.

NO WAY IN HELL! This is the first step to full out privatization. This is the STATE'S WATER SYSTEM! IT can not be sold off to the highest bidder -- NO WAY WILL WE ALLOW THIS BILL TO PASS!
