Money isn't the only thing in life. A casino would bring in jobs, and money, sure. But businesses like this invariably bring along higher rates of drug use, violence, alcohol abuse, and financial oblivion for those vulnerable to the allure of gambling. Building this would be just another step towards a desolate future of moral apathy and hopelessness.

Casinos take business away from other recreational businesses such as theaters and restaurants. The City of Ridgecrest should not spend a dime to promote the development of a casino. If it is economical, the private owners should fit the bill. No incentives should be paid by the City from taxpayer's funds.

No taxes and employment for Ridgecrest. This is a taxfree casino. Nobody except the casino benefits

This is not the kind of industry we want to bring to Ridgecrest. Many cities that have tried to increase tax revenue and tourism, by way of casinos have not gained the expexted revenue nor tourism, rather an increase in crime and violence. We don't want this. People wanting to participate in gaming can travel to Vegas, Palmdale, or Bishop.

I feel that bringing a casino to Ridgecrest is not in the best interest of our community.

A casino is one of the worst things that could happen to this town. It would only being more crime and more addiction to our little community. It wouldn't promote family values and it wouldn't help our community grow in a possitve way.

No Casino... For one thing, NO JAIL... Second thing, to close to the base. More crime, more addiction, more DUI's, more theft. No it will not bring more jobs, it will only hire tribal, will affect local stores, restaurants and so on... Oh, did I say... NO JAIL!!!

The motto on RPD's shoulder patch states Ridgecrest is the Key To New Horizons. A casino is outrageous when we need to keep the KC jail open. A casino will not help the city. No one is going to drive out of their way from the highways just to come into Ridgecrest. It will bring in more crime. The location is outrageous next to the Main Gate at the base. Poor decision. Will cause massive traffic jams, since the median was put in. Too many cons with the idea of a casino in town. A casino will put Ridgecrest backwards, not moving forwards. You're trying hard with the Petroglyph's theme, but that is also a bad idea, and the median art is dangerous to traffic in some areas. No to the casino, we don't need more trash in our town.
