This petition is for the neighborhoods south of Pioneer Trail (including Foxford) and east from Bluff Creek Drive in opposition of the boundary change to Chanhassen Elementary away from Bluff Creek and to Pioneer Ridge away from Chaska Middle School West. This change is affecting approximately 15 families.
Our neighborhoods are less dense than most neighborhoods with no growth, little turnover and very few new families with young children moving in. Keeping our boundaries the same will allow our children to remain with their elementary school peers through middle school and will allow them to stay at the current school they are comfortable at. There are so few children in this area, (at most 5 students per grade in K-5) that it will not make a significant impact to the numbers either way and rather just alienate the children from their close friends. Due to the low turnover of homes, future capacity at Bluff Creek is not a problem since new families with young children are not moving in. After this year, there will only be a handful of children left to enter Kindergarten from our area.
Please do not remove this small section of children from all of their classmates and the schools they have grown up and felt comfortable in. Every time there is a boundary change, our neighborhoods are affected. We ask that you make an exception to our area this time and keep us at Bluff Creek Elementary and Chaska Middle School West.

Our family has been through these boundary changes before with our older children. We did as we were told last go round when one of our children was entering 8th grade. It was a very difficult year due to the boundary change for our son. All of his friends from 1-7 grade went to another school leaving him to start all over again to establish new friendships. We would greatly appreciate reconcideration for as few students that we have on Deerbrook Drive and Foxford. Thank you!
We value the relationships that we have built with the Bluff Creek community, including the families, teachers and staff. Please consider this boundary change petition.
It does not make sense to disrupt this small group of families. Please consider.

I agree that we need to keep the boundaries as is for the children that live on Foxford Road. Consistency is best and I do not want my son that is in 3rd grade to change elementary schools.
