Opposition to Penman Springs Cannabis Cultivation, Processing and Mfg Facility/SLO BF

We are shocked as neighbors for the negativity this brings to our neighborhood on so many levels.

Please Please!! Do not allow this cannabis farm in this area. We have our children riding horses enjoying this property and enjoying the freedom it provides. I have boarded in other areas not far and the homeless are coming in the riverbed close to these properties bringing needles and syringes I have seen sexual activity in the bushes riding by the bridge north of this area. We have seniors living close by. It does not seem like a good fit.next to so many private homes. Please, reconsider other options in other areas away from private homes.

As a parent of a child who boards their horse on the property directly next to the proposed grow I can not understand how the board is considering to allow this experiment on our children and their animals to happen! No one has exposed children to chemicals this grow will produce to see the effects on them. Allowing this grow to be on the proposed property will be an experiment we have repeatedly asked to not take place.

I board my horse Liberty near this location! I often go there in the morning and evenings alone. It is often dark! I know that when the other operation on Penman Springs attracted attention and often encountered Sheriffs department and was questioned by an officer when leaving the property across the street! This is a very quiet amazing place to ride my horse and relax! I do not want that list!

I am highly opposed to this proposed farm/business. We have horses boarded near this property where my teen daughter rides as well as young children. I respect the right to free commerce but this is not the right location amongst family residences and wineries. Please do not allow this to move forward and ruin the area for the surrounding property owners.

Penman Springs is not the place for a cannabis farm. It is a place where people live, go wine tasting, and ride horses. There are children taking riding lessons next to where they are wanting to put this in. They do not need to be exposed to a cannabis farm nor should anybody else in that area.

I don’t support the cannabis farm coming to fruition. It would be detrimental to water supply and the safety of the neighbors and youth that resides or visits the homes nearby.

Myself and others have animals on nearby properties. We do not know what can happen if they are exposed to cannabis for a long period of time. We also do not want to explain to little kids why it smells a certain way all the time!

This is outrageous ! We have a drought right now in California!! Really what are they thinking to want yo do this!! We are totally against this!!

I live on Penman Springs! We are in a drought!!! How can they allow a commercial cannabis grow when we don't have enough water in our immediate area? I have lost my well as well a 100' oak tree due to the drought. I don't understand how they can allow this. Don't we matter? What about the odor? This will be year-round. Stop the madness and stop this from continuing.

This will hurt our neighbors and property value. Go somewhere else!

Leave our quiet, family orientated road alone!!! We don’t need the traffic, smell, or water usage. Plenty of us struggle enough.

I live on Penman Springs Rd. I have lived through the odor from the previous cannabis grow and it severely affects my asthma. When we open the windows to cool the house from our daily breeze, the smell stays in the furniture and carpet which makes my asthma worse. What does cannabis do to the ground water? Has any tests been done? I just want clean air to breathe and untainted water to drink.

I live on Penman Springs Road. Water is a huge problem here. We had to truck in water to irrigate the small vineyard to not risk the available water for the residents. Due to the drought, we lost our well. We don't want the odor and we don't want strangers coming on the ranch.

I live on Union Road just over the hill from this new project and the last Cannibis project. The smell was undeniably horrific at all times especially when the prevailing winds kicked up. Along with the skunky bad smell, I always worried about a bad element that cannabis grows are associated with, as well the tremendous water usage with such a crop as cannabis is documented to use. And, especially while property owners in this and surrounding area are battling the county and cities in an ongoing law suit for our water. I think it's absolutely absurd that the county supervisors would allow this project to go forward when clearly they have heard loudly the objections from the neighbors to this pot grow. Please, keep this area clean and safe for all. Listen to the people living right here. Don't allow something you wouldn't want growing in your back yard onto others!

It makes no sense to add stress to an already stressful situation. Our neighbors and families need to keep their quality of life as is, we have worked hard for our peaceful surroundings and lives. This is an absurd idea.

As a San Luis Obispo resident, I oppose the development of this cannabis farm and any others in areas that already have a water deficit. Please deny this project.

Please oppose the development of the DRC2018-00228 SLO BF Inc cannabis project. Many local families are challenged to have adequate water to meet basic living needs. Water needed to not only grow the cannabis, but to build roads to attend to crop and sell it would also take water. Our local families' survival has to come before profit to a new business venture. I now live in Atascadero, but have been a North San Luis Obispo County resident since 1978, 24 years were in a rural setting, dependent on well water. Please consider the limited water supply that is needed for county residents and oppose the subject project. Also those families who choose the rural lifestyle deserve and are entitled to the fresh air of the land they purchased. The strong Cannabis smell should not be forced on current residents. Thank you for your support to oppose this project.
