High-density housing or 160 units on a small lot will seriously damage this quiet neighborhood. Besides the traffic and other foreseeable issues, can the district and the city estimate how much this high-density bring down the housing values to this Glider neighborhood area?

Enough already with the need for housing !!! There is Toms of new housing in San Jose ., plus people are leaving the state. We need something for the community.

Please do not do encroachment for housing on places of education. With closing of schools the city is depriving kids of education as well as the future generation. Short sightedness by city policy makers will surely affect future generation of San Jose kids.

Land should remain for public use. Consider building a park, community center, etc.

This property is inappropriate for high density housing. Any plans must be fully disclosed to the community impacted by such plans.

I’ve been a strong supporter of OGSD for many years, serving on district committees and voting to pass parcel taxes, etc. In previous planning the sale of the district offices has been evaluated as a preferred site to sell due to its location. In previous actions to sell property public meetings were held and proposals were modified to reflect community concerns. There was a recognition that schools and school properties were intimate parts of communities-and communities are where voters live. And voters elect boards and are required to pass school bonds and parcel taxes. Please reconsider the sale of glider and consider the district location instead.

With narrow streets, limited parking, no water and extreme fire danger we don’t need more housing in this area.

I am the original owner of my home on a street which backs the Glider School property. I respectfully request that Oak Grove School District not sell the property for high-density housing. This is a quiet, single-family residential neighborhood which would be devastated by higher traffic, power and water usage, as well as the loss of privacy which would occur if multi-story buildings looked down upon those of us who own single-story homes. I believe the District should be unable to justify the environmental impact on this neighborhood so many of us call home. Thank you.

The Glider school property is not appropriate for more dense housing. The site has street access on only 2 of the 4 sides and each street (Cozy Drive and Glider Drive) is less than 20 ft. wide. The resources are extremely limited to handle 150+ new homes. The school site is nowhere near any public transportation. The property is closed off on one side by the hills and the roads are not adequate to handle hundreds of additional cars. As you know the wildfire situation in California has only gotten worse over the years. With additional population moving into the area and no easy way to evacuate in case of a fire, this poses a fire safety risk to all homes in the neighborhood. Our safety should be a priority.

There is too much house building...let’s full up what we have first. We don’t need anymore housing in this area.
