I was completely shocked when I read this article in my Daily Standard. Our watershed is already environmentally distressed, we haven't proved that agri-businesses can do what they should, We keep building artificial wet lands to make our water better instead of getting everyone to do what is right!

Please do not do anything to further threaten the health and beauty of our lake. It's disgusting on top of that to think that about 2 million hens living on top of each other. Gawd.

Why is this even an issue? Our lake is more than just a body of water! It brings in money for area small businesses.

The vast majority of farmers are doing what is required of them and I applaud them for that but to allow this facility that will produce 50,000 tons of wet manure a year near the treatment train we have spent several million dollars on doesn't seem logical. Facilities can deteriate over time, accidents can happen handling that much manure, and hopefully some of it can be sold outside the watershed but it is expensive to ship. At some point cost is a factor, so the manure could conceivably end up on fields in this watershed adding to the millions of tons we are already spreading at designated times.

They should build this north of Celina where there are mostly grain farmers.
They should build it close enough to Celina so they could use Celina water rather than drill wells.

Until manure and other phosphates stop entering Grand Lake St. Marys, lake restoration is unlikely. Sadly, Ohio Soil and Water will likely support agricultural interests before that of clean water, as they have in the past.
