It’s disappointing that this committee does not fight for their constituents. Utterly disgraceful to allow a foreign company make their revenue on our dime. They have done nothing in past years to upgrade the infrastructure but I’m sure their C-Suite got their million $ bonuses. What’s next, a Chinese company taking over our water department? The mayor nor this committee has the gumption to do what is right for the thousands of tampians struggling with all these increase and salaries not matching. You all should be ashamed. The only power we have is though our vote and believe us we will remember!m this!!!!!

Since being bought by Emera, a Canadian company Tecos rates have increased dramatically. Time for the PSA to deny increases. They quote typical users usage as being 1000 KWh I guess that’s per week. Time for the PSA to stop lining the CEO of Emera pocket, his salary is $9 million per year.

Record profits, yet still increasing rates with no identifiable increase in service. Disgusting.

I live in a very modest home of 1700sq ft. Why is my electric bill now the cost of a car payment? It went from $288 to over $500 a month! Who can survive these price hikes?

Aren't you supposed to protect the consumers from unjust enrichment by the utility company?

We aren't allowed to be off grid, but teco is raising rates beyond what a common household can afford. No more increases.

Profits have been over $400 million annually and rising with TECO while everyone is struggling. And audit is needed towards TECO and the PSC as TECO is possibly passing costs for infrastructure/discounts for data centers case and point earlier this year Foxconn bought a 10% ownership stake in TECO and opened a data center in downtown near Ybor so curious how the costs are being covered for these data centers. As for PSC with how obvious and outspoken everyone is struggling they had no problem hiking rates again and considering other temp hikes as well even though TECO quarterly earnings show higher profits than last year and over $400 million annual profits and rising so cool they can continue to pull more money while everyone struggles more.

I am a current TECO customer in Hillsborough County, I am also a over the road truck driver, and home 1 week a month, my electric bill is an average of $200 a month and no one is in my residence. They are taking in funds from storm protection and recovery fees, and still want to increase rates. Meanwhile I cannot shop rates or look at other companies because TECO has a monopoly and is the only power company available to me.

We are being nickel and dimed to death! There is zero reason for you to raise rates! I oppose the rate increase!

Don’t raise the price for existing residents! Only charge visitors. Charge hotels! Charge new builds! Don’t ruin the existing environment and habitats!

Our monthly rate jump to $1000 a month and has been holding steady at around 6:50 to 700 which is a significant increase from 350. Our usage has not changed that much and we’re understanding that the rate increase is across-the-board astronomical. It’s too expensive And we need assistance getting this lowered.
