Opposition to Commercial Zoning for the City of Oak Hill

Any commercial zoning in Oak Hill goes against the stated mission of the city and the reason many of us live here. Voting in favor of this measure by our elected officials would be wrong.

I am opposed to the actions that Austin McMullen is proposing. I oppose the comercialization of Oak Hill. I find the manner in which this is being done and the direct connection of Mr. McMullen to the property owners is unethical on his part. This is the worst in a series of bad decisions he has unloaded on the taxpayers of Oak Hill.

We have lived in Oak Hill since 1977. Give the developers an inch, and they will take a mile!

I oppose the commercial development on Old Hickory Blvd between Franklin Rd and the Korean Church

I'm completely opposed to the commercialization of Oak Hall and the fact that 3 people have the right to change the face of our city forever. And these are the people who are suppose to be representing our interest. It was clear from the turnout on Tuesday evening that many, many residents are outspoken in their opposition and baffled by the rushed nature and timing of this development.

I strongly oppose any commercial development in Oak Hill.

Most of us moved to Oak Hill because it is exclusively residential with strong zoning ordinances and subdivision regulations that prohibit commercial development and high-density multifamily residence development like condos or apartment buildings. The proposed commercial develpoment zone is not "limited" as was billed. The resident survey that the BOC is using to claim that Oak Hill residents prefer commercial development over increased fees or elimination of city services was seriously flawed and essentially invalid. The questions were misleading and designed to elicit the pre-determined responses.

I have lived in Oak Hill for 18 years and I adamantly oppose this ordinance. If this ordinance passes, it will forever destroy the unique character of Oak Hill. Our neighborhood is fortunate to border the much-treasured Radnor Lake State Park. The integrity of both the park and our neighborhood depends on prohibiting commercial development. If the city needs more funding for services, I am happy to consider a proposal for a reasonable tax increase.

As a 20-year resident of the tranquil and nature-lush Oak Hill community, I have chosen to remain so due to these attributes and its strick all-residential designation. I am stringently against any commercial development within the Oak Hill borders and would defintiely opt for a reasonable tax initiative if that were truly proven to be a viable solution for the finanical well-being of Oak Hill.

I oppose any commercial development within the city of Oak Hill. Metro Nashville has plenty of unplanned sprawl as it is. If this is merely an issue of needing more city revenue for garbage services, etc., then itemize those cost hikes and allow us to pay them. Otherwise, this looks like nothing but a land grab.

I think all Oak Hill owners deserve much more detailed information and open discussion on this matter before any final decisions are made.

I am opposed to raising revenue by approving ANY commercial property in Oak Hill. Consider also reducing salaries and expense account limits for officials making more than $75,000 per year.

Oak Hill residents DO NOT want commercial development!

We are absolutely opposed to commercial development within Oak Hill. We have resided in Oak Hill for 29 years, and the lack of commercial development is what initially attracted us to this area.
