There is commercial land available for development. It will destroy the quality of life in these neighborhoods, which is what we bought when we purchased our homes. People in Autumn Drive, Green Oak Drive, and Gatewood will not be able to turn left onto Latta Road due to the planned road "improvement." We have too many strip malls in North Durham with vacant spaces. This will be one more. The UDO was paid for with our tax dollars and produced with much forethought. Enforce it.

There is nearby land zoned for this type of development. And a thousand other reasons not to rezone this parcel.

I am totally against this project. Could bring rats and other rodents from rotten garbage. Could put in sex shop next to school and across from church. Further North 2-5 miles 4 different land spots 2 zoned comercial exists build there not in a safe quite residential area don't want 103% more traffic. Not safe for children at Easley or parents.

This is wrong for the area. What's the point of the planning commission if this is approved?

The 2 -11 vote against the rezoning by the Planning Commission says it all. Why have this Commission if Council overrides their decisive vote.

Please do not re-zone the areas off Guess and Latta Road. I live in the Autumn Ridge Subdivision which is right across from the proposed site and my daughter will be attending Easley this coming school year. I am concern about the impact on traffic and population into that concentrated areas. Easley is located in a rather secluded area and having a huge plaza in their school backyard posts risk to my child's safety. I am respectfully asking that the area be left alone.

We do not need mixed use zoning in this area. Willowdale and Kroger plazas are already needing tenants. Revamp the shopping areas we already have.

Please don't rezone the land at Guess and Latta! The Eno River is just downhill and the roads are not adequate for increased traffic. Leave it wild or at least residential!

Not what our lovely, quiet North Durham homes need! I love the wildlife and eno river area, that is what I want in my backyard, not a strip mall!!!!

Please do not rezone the 30 acres to mixed used. It is a terrible idea.

Please don't rezone, this area doesn't need another strip mall

we do not need another strip mall that goes bankrupt and is abandoned. If folks want to go into retail, only allow permits (no zone changing) to take over one of the many failed areas we already have. Be smart, honor the request of neighbors and the recommendation of the planning commission and not vote for this... vote against this rezoning.

Stop sprawl from overtaking Durham

Please oppose this rezoning effort - there are many reasons - urban sprawl (this is not 'mixed use'), pollution runoff into Eno River, traffic problems, and the questionable ethics of the corporate/legal effort behind the proposed development.

we need to keep the residential areas we have, not create more commercial sprawl.

Don't rezone traffic would be a nightmare on Latta. It kind of already is on the Duke St end
