Opposition to 4150 N. Ryan Road Creston Commercial Cannabis Cultivation Facility/Engrained LLC

We fought this same situation two years ago with the property to the north of us. A cannabis operation does not belong in the neighborhood of family residential ranches, Cannabis is a commercial operation.

I STRONGLY OPPOSE this project which would drastically change Creston's character and has impacts to water, infrastructure, safety, and air (odors) that can't be adequately mitigated.

I am a North County resident and I oppose this cannabis project. Water use and the horrible odor are my major concerns for the community.

I totally oppose cannabis grows, processing, and facilities in Creston, my hometown. Water consumption, skunk weed smell, increased traffic on the *dirt* road, electrical grid power concerns, and the visual stigma of commercial buildings in a 'rural residential' neighborhood are just some of the reasons why I oppose. Know that the voters are watching and will respond at the polls accordingly.

Cannabis is mind numbing. We should rather encourage mind stimulating projects such as businesses supporting the clean energy or space industries.

As a Creston Area Resident, I strongly oppose County Approval for the Proposed Commercial Ind. Cannabis Facility on Ryan Rd.

Please do not allow this operation. it is not compatible in our community with the other agricultural growth. This project is not “community compatible”. No one wants the cannabis skunk odor permeating their neighborhoods regularly.

This project is not compatible with the general Creston area. The project applicants claim that this is JUST another agricultural farming operation similar to existing recognized crop operations in the area. Cannabis is not a recognized regular AG crop by SLO County. Cannabis projects are classified by SLO County as COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS not agricultural farming operations. Unlike regular recognized agricultural crop operations, cannabis projects are not recognized as "RIGHT TO FARM" activities and therefore require discretionary Land Use Permit approval by the County. This project's Cannabis Land Use Permit application was denied by the SLO County Planning Commission earlier this year.

This proposed commercial cannabis cultivation facility is NOT compatible with the community of Creston, CA!

This is not community compatible. Cannabis facilities in any form impose too many negative impacts. I oppose all cannabis facilities and grows in our community and ask that you do the same. Thank you.

Unhealthy and dangerous project for this area. No manufacturing please!

SLO County Board of Supervisors please listen to the residents of Creston and do not allow this commercial cannabis operation in our community. It will cause horrible skunk odors and negatively impact the local area. Vote NO at the appeal hearing on September 14, 2021. Thank you.

This is an inappropriate land use close to a community

We oppose all cannabis facilities and grows in our community of Creston. Please do let this happen.

Cannabis grows do not belong in rural residential neighborhoods anymore than they belong in city residential neighborhoods. Please vote to oppose this cannabis grow.

This or any other cannabis project is not compatible with the Creston community. I am highly opposed.

While we understand the financial value cannabis brings, we believe the community of Creston couldn't be a less appropriate location for this kind of facility. We're a tight-knit, everyone-knows-everyone town that holds family and neighbor values at a premium. This project violates these values from just about every angle - safety, aesthetics, air-quality and abuse of resources - and will not only spell disaster for our local economy but for our quality of life. There's a place for cannabis, but it's not Creston. For the sake of our community, the well-being of its residents and our children's future, please consider the values that make the central coast so special and reconsider this project.

This project is not compatible with our community. The well-being of all residents is in jeopardy. The County must listen to our objections.

This facility is so inappropriate for the entire North County. These grows have decimated the rural and residential areas of Carpinteria. In addition to the offensive skunk smell the WATER use is astronomical for this crop, over a basin already in decline. Send them packing... Corcoran is a better fit.
