This is an urgent call to arms to all of you in regards to a senate bill that is soon to be passed in an effort to stimulate Georgia's anti-immigration caucus. This bill (SB6) or "Georgia Road Safety and Driver's License Integrity Act" will demand the surrender of drivers licenses of current DACA recipients and force them to bare specialized licenses branding them as "Illegal Aliens". The Georgia Senate approved a bill on February 29th, that would require immigrants who have deferred action on deportation be issued separate driver’s licenses and ID cards that explicitly say they don’t have lawful status. If this bill is passed, it could potentially be used as a tactic to stigmatize and single out those who are here on work visas or other legal pretenses and provide the legislation with means for deporting these individuals.
I am reaching out to all of you good people because there are people amongst us who will be directly affected by the passing of this bill. Lets petition this bill and prevent the state of Georgia from stigmatizing the hardworking and deserving individuals who are just trying to make a future for themselves like everyone else. No one wants to be singled out or branded. I am asking for your support now.
"Senate Bill 6 is an obstacle for anyone who has a limited license due to DACA or victims of domestic violence. If passed, our human rights will be jeopardized. We will no longer have control of our privacy. We will be discriminated and because of our status it will be impossible to be able to even acquire the basic necessities that could include, but not limited to a home. Many republican legislators have disregarded our petitions. Today you can help us in the movement so that our voices become heard."

The feedback I keep hearing from people directly affected by this bill is heavy and exhausting. I am spending my nights drafting formal letters to the committee members who refuse to acknowledge our concerns. We are tired but we are not going anywhere.

This is just shameful. Why are we trying to label people and treat them like second class citizens when they just want to work and contribute to the state. Leave these families alone.
How can we be a beacon of hope for all of the other countries around the world if we are not accepting to others because of their nationality, race, or religious belief. Majority of the other countries in the world look at America as a model. As humans we grow up knowing right from wrong. When something is wrong it doesn't feel right, or it may temporarily feel good but it always feels like there is something missing. Some of the most honest, loyal, smartest, hardest working individuals I know are immigrants. The only difference between us and them is they are not from this country and we wonder why some other countries don't like Americans.
This is an injustice to those who go through hell and hot water to come here to work for little to nothing just to have a better chance to succeed. Doing this will not only undo all the hard work they've put in, but make it impossible to grow anywhere else. This is supposed to be the land of opportunity, no other country gives someone the chance to create something from nothing at such a fast pace. Who as an american citizen, decides who has that right to the pursuit of happiness and who doesn't?
As a Georgia resident, I completely oppose to SB6, and ask for you to vote against this bill. It is bad for our economy as it will continue to waste Georgian's tax money.
I disagree with this bill being passed. It is wrong to take away someones drivers license and put them as illegals just because they are under DACA. These people were given the chance to live and make a better life and future.
Stop this bill!

STOP SB6!!! This is so unfair and honestly it just makes Georgia look bad. We should be helping people succeed not creating more problems for them.
