Agree! But we should be given the choice. Those that can afford they can choose to go opposite or Nex, so that it'll save more space in the canteen too:>

It's not that we don't appreciate, there just isn't enough space and time for us. Although yes we may complain, but personally I still just eat in school most of the time, and it's not that bad. It might turn a little boring overtime, but I always look forward to the Kway chap

Surely the numbers would already prove how irrational this new rule is, with 746 people opposing, I really hope zhonghua will listen to our voices. Furthermore there is even people from other counties, who are not in our school and yet can understand and sympathise with us, and If zhonghua still won't see the light, that it'll only result in worser scenioros and outcomes; I won't be surprise if there will be a next petition and it'll cross 1000 that time, with a lot more hate:>

My girl is in zhss Sec 3, I sincerely hope that Sch will treat our children like an adult. I believe by restricting them from eating lunch out of Sch will not help to make students more disciplined. It is the parents /family/Sch responsibility to teach them the rights n wrongs, instead of setting unnecessary rules.

I feel like they should not ban them from doing so it's their lunch time... school timing is over. It's their turn to go out and eat. But if they behave rowdy when they are outside , wearing school uniform / PE attire ... I agree with you to ban them. But if they behave themself I feel like they deserved to go .

are we suppose to stand under the sun and photosynthesise? should we have chloroplast that can convert sunlight and co2 to o2 and glucose? are you expecting us to make our own food LOL. how to eat when we have to squeeze with 4 cohorts in a scarce land of what we call canteen, choosing from such a 'WIDE' array of food choices and be done in 30 MINS? illogical.

Please allow the juniors to be able to give to opposite for lunch. I understand that it may be because of the safety of the students etc. However,I hope that the school can understand that the students who eat 2 meals in the school canteen can get really sick of the food. They should be given a wider choice of food in the canteen which is high chance not possible as the school is too small for a bigger canteen. Therefore, I think the school should take down the stand of eating in school.

If this school rule is not going away, please also apply this rule to all staffs of zhss. This shouldn't only be applied to the students and moreover aren't the teachers a role model for the students?

Students should be allowed to have lunch outside school as the school does not have enough food

Firstly, as a graduating student , I personally feel that the addition of this new rule is absurd. I believe that this is not only how I feel but also the others, especially my cohort mates. All this while, the school has been enforcing on how students should say positive while managing all these stress we face in school. How do you expect us to stay happy while we need to juggle with all those complicated things we face in school?! Okay, secondly, the school's canteen isn't that big to hold all four cohorts together during lunch break. Not only that, we only have HALF AN HOUR to finish our lunch due to the long queues. Well, if this is so, I would rather not eat then to get scolded by teachers for being late, just because of this stupid rule. And I believe that many would agree with me, for what I've said. You said that this rule was implemented taking our safety into consideration, then what I would like to say is that, then you guys have forgotten about our health, man. Then do ignore us if that is just the way how you want to take care of your students since I guess that gastric problems, or rather intestine problems that the students will have in future do not bother you guys at all. Thirdly, what about those students who have nothing to do and have to wait until their CCA starts while staying in school? Especially on Fridays, where some students do not have SSPs and their CCA only starts at 4pm in the late afternoon even though we end school at 12:30pm. Well, if you suggest that they can stay in class and study and all, well then, please allow me to remind you that the two uncles in school ALWAYS chase us out and will forever be threatening us that they will take picture of us in the classroom and send it to the OM. They say that we are wasting the school's electricity and that this will cause the bill to shoot up. True that, but since this new rule has been implemented then I believe that the school will have to pay more money in this case. Since all of

Well, I am sure that those of us who have signed and voiced out our opinions on this petition, we all clearly know the possible consequences we may face, be it detention or detentions or punishments. But the only reason why this has reach to such extent to an online petition of current 717 signatures, is obviously because there is something majorly wrong, and we would rather risk having detentions then keeping numb about this. While the school has claimed this new rule is for the safety of the students, the disadvantages and downsides would evidently overpower that minor benefit. At the same time, it is also not in favour for anyone, be it students, the school or the food vendors. The students would clearly suffer with the loss of food and time, while the school would only recieve the batches of even displeased and rebellious students as well as a tainted reputation. The food vendors would also not be spared, the aunties and uncles' health in our school would visibly detoriate. Other aunties and uncles, such as the contract Cleaners would also have to put though a tougher day, the opposite uncles and aunties that we all have forged a close bond with would also suffer businesses. While I understand that all these points and reasons have been repeated repetitively by many, again the only reason is because we all feel the strong need to voice our reasons out to the school community. I also understand that there may be doubts, that students safety could be compromised when we are outside, or that we may be late for ssps. But I strongly believe that there is a better and more supported ideas and ways, than this new unwelcomed rule. I am not saying I hate our school ways and rules, but I believe there are more rational ways for this issue, and disciplinary actions as well. Perhaps holding a talk, to listen out to our opinions as well as the school community, and reach a compromising and agreeable plan. Instead of brushing us away, or give us no Leeway to explai

Most of our teachers drag their lessons by 5-10mins, eating up our recess or lunch breaks. Myself being a sec 4 student, feel that this rule is constricting all of us to even have freedom and even to eat. The school says that we are responsible for our actions, whenever we do anything wrong, we serve detentions. And that we should be treated like young adults. We have to even make our life decisions which affects our future and career after we take our 'O' levels this year. With that, we cannot even take care of ourselves to cross the road opposite school? Let's say the canteen opens till 3.30. We get released at about 2.05pm. We have to go to the toilet. Who doesn't need to do their business? Teachers don't allow us to go to the toilet during their lessons. No choice, we have to go during breaks. So we return at about 2.10-2.15pm, due to the long queues in the toilet because apparently almost all cohorts need to use the toilet, and not every level has a toilet near all of our classrooms. Next, we quickly proceed to the canteen. Oh, how great, the canteen is filled with lower sec students. We, upper sec students have no space to sit, and even no TIME to eat. Ok, so we put faith in ourselves, telling ourselves "Oh I think I can finish my meal in 5-10mins maybe? So I wont be late for SSP." So we proceed to queue up for food. Have you seen how crowded the canteen is during our lunch break? So we end up queueing for 10-15mins (not even kidding) and only have about 3-5mins to wolf down our food. What happens next? The bell rings. We tend to run to our classrooms to attend SSP on time. Soon enough, our health detoriates. Many of us have gastric due to the inconsistent timing of food. Who is going to pay for our bills then? The school? Since you claim to take responsibility for our safety, why not our health too as it is heavily caused by the school? Next, scenario 2. Canteen stalls open till 6pm with SUFFICIENT food. You are obviously implementing this because you KNOW th

Honestly, this is really ridiculous like what are you guys trying to do to us. It really feels like a prison in here everyday. The school is like trying to control us and restrict us from doing things. It seems like the school only cares about their own interest and whether it is beneficial for the school. Ever since we step in to this school from secondary 1, we were told that we will be treated like young adults and that we were told to be responsible for our actions and grow up. But, what is this now? Don't you think the school is too restricting us too much by being so overprotective? Do you think we do not know how to cross the road safely? Do we look like primary school kids to you? Even primary school kids know how to cross the road by themselves and what about us? We're secondary school students who are 13-17years old and does it seem like we do not know any better than primary school kids. This is not treating us like young adults. This is like treating us as babies, babies who needs to taken care of their every little needs and problems. It's unfair how just because of a few lower secondary parents who raised their concerns on this matter, that led to such a rule being implemented. Do you even think that we have enough time to consume our food during lunch? It's just going to cause a lot of health problems for people, have you ever thought of that? For example, maybe someone ate their breakfast at home before coming to school and so, chooses not to eat during recess and waits till lunch to have another decent meal. However, for the upper secondary students, it's like we only have 30minutes for lunch everyday and we have to take time to go to canteen and queue up at the same time with 3 other cohorts, how long do you think it will take for us to be able to get our food and consume it? After getting our food, we will only have like what, 5-10minutes to eat our food before having to rush back? We're supposed to have a break and enjoy our food, but no, we won'

The majority should be the ones who triumph. Parents will never understand the needs of students, and students' rights should be placed above all.
