It's not fair or even rational. Like its not possible for everyone to eat in time, I mean there's not enough tables and benches (and some are even spoiled or missing), and the queues would be way too Long. Surely, some students would have to forgo their meals, while the others would have no choice but to just rush their food. It'll only result in health issues also. Plus it'll be a tight squeeze for those seating (who can come down earlier than the rest) and those who comes down late won't have enough seats either, are we then expected to stand and eat?
And even if they say they are asking and informing the aunties and uncles of the stall to Prepare more food, and open till a later timing. Then do you expect them to stay till 6? Because staying till 3:30 would not be of use. Sometimes we have ssps and then ccas, how are we suppose to eat at 3:30? Plus eating lunch at such a late timing, would again raise health issue soon. Furthermore, asking the uncles and aunties to stay back and prepare more food would only detoriatiate their health. I mean, they would have to wake up earlier and get the ingredients and everything ready, they have to adjust to a new schedule, they would have to work longer and more gruelling hours. Plus, they have to rush in serving students, and won't this make them even more tired?
And even if the school says taht they are considering of putting food vending machines, it's not healthy either. Plus, surely they suggested it because they understand that there might not be enough to time to eat. Then why place such a rule? Even with food vending machines, it still won't solve the space issue, we still worn have space to eat. Being constrained to the canteen does not help either. We are also not allowed to bring any food out if the canteen, then where do the rest of the seats appear from? Where are the other places for us to eat appear from? Plus, some would have to result to brining to class and ssps to eat because there's no time, and th

I think that u should let Zhonghua Sec school students to eat at NEX,as it is their freedom to choose where to eat for lunch. And not forever in their own sch to eat everytime.. so i think that they should have the freedom to choose where to eat for lunch.

The new rule doesn't make any sense. You can't expect all students to be able to fit into the canteen during a less than 30 mins lunch break. Does the sch wants to see hungry students unable to focus in class and durung their cca? What able those with gastric problems? zhss should counter the jay walking problem, not ban the whole sch from going out for lunch.

Why can't we have our freedom and eat what we like? Why do we have to eat the same meals over and over again in the same canteen with 4 COHORTS? How even! We already have tests after tests, homework after homework, all we have is our lunchtime and you've taken it. Put yourself in our shoes k.

the fact that so many parents are willing to complain to the school about this incident shows that they have the knowledge that their child is going out to eat and entrust their child to be safe. Why must we let some overprotective parents who are so worried their dear baby would do stupid things like jaywalking affect our lunch? I suggest that we all be late for ssp so that the school will understand the problem or if they want to they can give 100+ of us detention and let us fill up the entire detention corner

i totally agree with this. If the school wants us to be responsible then if we are late then let us face the consequences, and not let us go out for lunch. This is also unfair to malay students as they only have one stall in the canteen to eat.

Its kind of unfair for the whole school to do this just because of a student. If limited to just eating in school for lunch, can you imagine the amount of time they need to queue for food and the space to eat? They would bot have enough time. Teachers also often release students late, if you consider all of these factors, it basically means that students won't have enough time and space to eat in the canteen. Teachers should try to understand the larger grp, and if a small amount of people causes problems, they should take responsibility of their actions, not dragging the other students with them.

First of all, there is obviously a reason why the recesses are separated. It's because there is no way that the whole school can fit into the canteen and be able to buy and eat their food PLUS reach class on time within 30 MINUTES. So how do you expect all of us to fit into the canteen after school when everyone is straving after lessons, eat our lunch and be on time for SSP?
Secondly, the welfare of the canteen vendors. Most of them are old and they have to come to school early in the morning to provide us with food. Now, you want them to stay for longer hours after school and cook more food for the whole school to eat during recess and lunch plus some of us who eat breakfast in school? That is completely unreasonable and shows your lack of concern for the welfare of the canteen vendors. They need their time to rest and they have their own families to attend to.
Lastly, this rule is implemented for the safety of the students? Im sure we're all mature enough to be able to go out and come back. Why would you implement this rule on the ENTIRE school when only a few students are causing trouble. Im sure there will be students ignoring this rule and causing even more trouble. This new rule ain't gonna help solve the problems. Implementing this rule because some parents complained is a ridiculous reason. it's the parents' responsibilty to discipline their OWN child. Not everyone comes late for SSP, most of us are sensible enough to stay in school for lunch if SSP starts 30 minutes later.

Firstly I strongly believe that going out to have lunch is not the sole reason why students are late for their ssp, moreover these students are just the minority. If you treat us like young adults and as mature individual, you should let us make our own decisions and bare the consequences.Secondly,by implementing this rule,it will only stir up more problems as students will always come up with excuses just to go out.Thirdly, you say that by implementing this rule,it will help us to save money but if we know how to save, spending that sum of money would not be a problem and in addition,it is a boredom to eat school food for both recess and lunch.finally I strongly do not support the implementation of this rule.Thank you.

its rather ridiculous... juz becoz the parents cannot find ways to get their children to obey the traffic lights and instead turn to the school to shirk their responsibily as a parent, and we have to suffer this rule for a year(me) or even years(juniors)?
how does it really make sense that the complaints from a few sec 1 parents outweigh the 1000+ students in school?
or how even does it make sense that the canteen, which is the about area of the hall can get 1000 students all seated with food ready where the hall could only get 800(sec 1 to 3) students squeezed tgt and seated on the floor?
which mostly does not make sense for the bbt uncle and the ice cream uncle that now they can only depend on yangzheng kids to support their business?
↑which this dawn to me that even primary school allows their kids to go out, ridiculous? right, so the school shl either abolish the rule or allow meals delivery in school(more ridiculous huh?).

How can we bodybuilders make them GAINZ if we don't have food to eat? Not implying that canteen food sucks (but really, our school's canteen food is not too bad), but spare a thought about whether there's still food available after school hours? Also, many students would skip lunch before attending SSP, some, to starve themselves because they're cutting, and some because they want to avoid postprandial somnolence (food coma, for all you who don't know better). Another thing is, spare a thought for the canteen vendors, should we make them stay longer hours than usual, just so to prevent stupid students from getting knocked down by oncoming vehicles when Jay-walking? Mind you, some of the vendors arrive at school much earlier than most of the students, don't they deserve to leave earlier? Some of them may even have household chores and other responsibilities to tend to at home, give them a break. It's funny how one student's folly is made reflective of the whole school. Instead of arguing that the parents should have taught their child(ren) better, you decide to sabotage the entire school's privilege to dine out before after-school activities? Please enlighten me about how students should spend their time during that (possibly) 2 hours break before their CCAs start. And don't even think about saying that "Oh, why not use your time fully to revise...", because most, if not all, of the students deserve a break from school, and letting them free for that 1 to 2 hours isn't THAT BIG of a deal. Take that student's mistake with a pinch of salt, if you may. Because not everyone is that ignorant towards traffic safety, and not everyone is that unlucky (or perhaps, lucky) to almost get knocked down by traffic. I'm out.

ZHSS is turning into a military camp. We're a joke compared to other schools. Do you really want to send the message that you mistrust your very own students to the extent that you imprision them in school to regulate whatever insignificant form of discipline? Keeping us in school is by no means solving the real problem, you're simply AVODING the entire issue because let's face it you can't handle the problem at all. Is the cause of students being late really because their going out to eat? Have you looked from the students perspective? Can you even proof that the students going late are the ones going out of school to eat and not those eating in school? I bet why students are really late is teachers are holding us back, we are never released on time yet we can never afford to be a second late. students are often released at 2:05-2:10 and expected to report promptly to our next military venue by 2:25. Zhong Hua please do the math, that leaves us with 15mins and out of the 15, 5 will be used to walk down and back up. 10mins... So let me ask you are you sure we are late because we're going out of school? Or because you're teachers are going out of control.
