I am in agreement that we must all put forth our collective and individual efforts to oppose and stop The Murphy Development. I believe it would have dire consequences for Sawgrass, Waterford and Venice at large. I believe that The Murphy Development does not safeguard the identity and values of Venice but instead disregards and erodes current taxpayers/citizens’ quality of life and love of Venice.

As a resident on Auburn Road, we are very concerned of the impact this new addition will have on Fox Lea Farms, Sawgrass, and other residents close by. Fox Lea Farms is a unique and very special attraction in Sarasota County and they have always been good neighbors. This will definitely have a negative impact on them. Also even if a sound barrier is not put up, the noise factor from I 75 will definitely decrease property values in Sawgrass etc. We ask that the council please be respective of its current tax paying residents and consider all the future negative implications that these homes could cause.

Our beautiful Venice is getting too overdeveloped! There seems to be little to no thought or consideration to the quality of life this is affecting. If we don't do something soon--like oppose this latest project--we'll soon become yet another land of housing developments and strip malls!

Proposed development bad not only for nearby communities but for The City of Venice and it's residents. Infrastructure can not support this, end result will be higher taxes, air, noise pollution etc.

No consideration has been given to the infrastructure demands or the subsequent tax burden on the Community. Why is this development necessary? We know who is harmed by this development, but who benefits? The developer? Certainly NOT the Community.

I am totally opposed. Auburn runs right behind my house. There is no sound barrier wall. The noise and shaking of my home when big trucks go by is horrendous. It’s only going to get worse.

I have lived all over the country and every time an area was over-developed such as this proposal suggests, the community invariably suffered. At some point we need to make the decision that quality is preferred over quantity. Everyone knows that developments like this are about money. Please reaffirm our belief that Venice will continue to exceed the standards it has set for our community.

The density of the housing is inappropriate and not within the guidelines set by the Venice Council. During the "Season" traffic is already at saturation point, more homes and vehicles will just compound the problem.

There is no question the proposed development will disrupt the Sawgrass and Waterford communities as well as Fox Lea Farms. The congestion of homes in the area will impact the quality of life and concerns for safety.

We feel the city should reject this development with it being in a very small area off a narrow county road with no room for turning lanes. Why would The Council want to disrupt a very prominent business, Fox Farms, that brings lots of revenue to our city of Venice? It seems The Council is more concerned about squeezing lots of homes in a small area, next to a six lane interstate and a horse farm that needs protected. When we purchased our home off of Auburn in Sawgrass, we had no idea that they would rezone it to accommodate this development. We hope The Council will consider all the negatives that go with this development and realize that it is not a ‘good fit’ for this location. You are elected officials and we hope you will do what is best for ALL residents of Venice.
