My greatest concern is for wildlife.
We are crowding them out.
As a recent newcomer to Sawgrass I feel very fortunate we were
able to find our piece of Paradise. Yet I can only imagine 15-20 years ago there were very likely people who were not happy with development and changes that became our neighborhood. There needs to be a better plan put into action. I’m counting on the Venice powers that be to do the right thing and find a better solution. We need to PRESERVE PARADISE.
It sickens me to see how the developers have already ravaged the land farther east at the Jacaranda / Border road property.

The developer was well-aware what he purchased and how the property was zoned. We cannot continue to bend over backward to support the whim of speculators. We are ruining Venice, overwhelming the infrastructure, and destroying our quality of life. Let's support controlled growth and stick with the plans on the table. The density for that small property was never in the plan. Why permit this developer to scrape off his profits at our expense and then depart for another state, another site, and quickly depart to do the same, leaving us with increased traffic, a strain on water/ waste removal systems, the power grid, further crowding of schools or the requirement for additional new schools, and increased taxes to support unbridled growth. Stop! Stick to the plan. Manage our resources and give us the stewardship that our community demands.

This is not the right location for this type of dense housing. Think about the future implications and why do something now that will be a very expensive proposition in the future for Venice taxpayers. Consider what has been happening the last few years with developers that were granted locations. We are already seeing the negative effects of some of these places.

The pristine beauty and nature of Sawgrass and the neighboring area, will be negatively impacted by this additional building. I am concerned, not only for the people, but for the wildlife of Venice.

The increased traffic will create an undesirable congestion for the present users of Auburn Road and a difficult air and noise quality situation for the existing horse farm which happens to be a giant revenue contributor to The city of Venice. This project should be sited east of Venice and the Interstate.

Progress does not have to mean more. More homes means more traffic, more roads, more infrastructure, more costs to Venice. More costs often requires more taxes. So, if more causes additional negative burdens on all of the community, its not progress.

We moved to Venice when it was a small, growing community. Never in our wildest dreams did we believe that the community would be so overwhelmed with new housing developments, car dealerships, 2 new hospitals in the urban areas and, now, a development that skirts the beautiful Fox Lea Farms. Individuals will purchase the cheap lots close to Fox Lea Farms and then petition to drive this thriving business out of the area due to flies, noise from the events, etc. We are totally against this development for the above reasons In addition, we will experience additional traffic and noise in an area that is still "old Florida."
