I am appalled that the Venice City Planners would even consider this housing development. How do they propose handling the excessive traffic congestion that will be caused by this. Is anyone on the Board even paying attention? Or is money the common factor here?

Hurts existing deveopments--Sawgrass, Waterford, Fox Lea. Ignores previos zoning regulations. Completely changes neighborhood atmosphere. May cause additional legal fees. Traffic on Edmondson will be excessive. It and Border Rd will not handle the traffic that will come with current approved plans for all the housing going in in this area.

Unbridaled development is already diminishing the quality of life in Venice and this poorly thought out high density development will accelerate this disturbing trend.

If the proposed development isn’t compatible with surrounding communities, that is if it doesn’t look like Sawgrass and/or Waterford etc., it should not be allowed.

I'm not sure of the purpose of a "master plan" when it isn't followed. I'm guessing there may be legitimate reasons (for example, a safety issue) why the master plan may be altered, but this certainly doesn't appear to be one!

I strongly oppose this development. What on earth are the city planners thinking?????

I am opposed to the Murphy Oaks development. I do not see that there are any advantages to Venice residents and nearby homeowners to increase the density of users on our current infrastructure. I bought my residence in Sawgrass because of the lower density development in this area and expect the City Council to adhere to the original zoning of the property.

I am profoundly opposed to the building of Murphy Oaks development..This will seriously affect our way of life at Sawgrass and most definitely affect the value of our homes..

I am against this development as currently proposed. The increased density of homes is not consistent with the nearby communities. What is the point of having a master plan for the city when seems to be rarely adhered to?

Too much congestion for existing residential community.

As a lawyer, we should consider court action to enjoin this careless proposal, if the City still wishes to go forward.

Too many homes in this area for water purposes and traffic.

I oppose the Murphy Oaks Development. There is way too much development in the area (Jacaranda, Border Road, West Villages to name a few). There is no additional infrastructure in place to accommodate all the cars and traffic. We need to preserve our quality of life.

Overdevelopment in Venice is destroying the pristine nature of our community. The heavy traffic on Auburn Road will be detrimental to the quality of life for those entering and exiting from the Sawgrass community.
