Opposing New Homes On Auburn Road

Both the City Council and the planners are ignoring the cumulative impacts of over development in Venice. Our quality of life will be destroyed in a few short years.

This corner cannot accommodate another development and should not be considered by the city of Venice.

This development will contribute to suburban sprawl that is going to choke off existing roads in Venice, adversley affecting existing neighborhoods. North Auburn, Edmondson, and Border Roads are going to be flooded with cars once other approved development is completed. The City has failed to provide for adequate roads, letting developers off the hook, and it's time to stop.

Strongly opposed - traffic and congestion is already an issue we don't need another 100+ homes to make it worse.

Please don't ruin our beautiful neighborhood by over crowding

I am opposed to the number of homes planned for Murphy Oaks. Is anyone in this administration paying attention to future drinking water and sewage needs?

The original zoning on that property was for just a few homes, not 100+. Also, traffic on Auburn Road will increase so much that a stoplight will need to be installed on our country road. Such a shame that a builder’s desire to profit is more important than preserving the tranquility of the environment.

Don’t vote when people are away vote when everyone is here so you get a true picture people do not want more houses

Oppose Murphy Oaks project

The existing infrastructure is already insufficient to absorb all the development taking place in the City of Venice and the County of Sarasota. Also the additional congestion this development will create is not desirable. This development would be harmful to our quality of life and the environment. Finally, Fox Lea Farms would be negatively impacted by this expansion and the people who would live in this development would be negatively impacted by the Farms proximity to .them.

The city rules should be followed

Further development in Venice requires much more strategic thinking. This development further destroys quality of life for current residents and adversely impacts the environment.

I am opposed to this development. Our city infrastructure can not support uncontrolled growth.

When is our local government going to put an end to all the development. Our small town will be a cement city.

I am opposed to any development that is at variance with the zoning codes and master plan.

I am opposed to this development. We moved to sawgrass to be in the quiet Venice atmosphere and don't want the congestion this development will bring.

I did not choose to live in Lakewood Ranch, Fort Myers or Naples because of the uncontrolled growth. Don't deteriorate the quality of life in Venice and create another "megatropolis."

Claims by the city council and planners to be desiring limited controlled development are clearly facetious, but this is no laughing matter. Venice is clearly under siege by the developers and the city planners and council are complicit. This uncontrolled orgy of development is rapidly destroying Venice as we know it.

Despite all of the issues such as compatibility, traffic, wildlife, adjacent property concerns, etc. , the city planners and city council are willing to sell Venice out for whatever their agenda entails. It is really sad to see such a beautiful place be rapidly diminished to somewhere that very soon is not going to be very appealing to live. Despite all their rhetoric about controlled development and community beautification, it appears to be all about the money. Perhaps there will be a stronger voter turnout during the next local election to reflect better representation for the people of Venice.

Development in the Venice area is far outpacing the construction of the necessary infrastructure to support such development. The planning and zoning commissioners and the city council need to act and vote more responsibly and stop bowing to the desires of developers.
